Project Overview:
We are building high performing teams to deliver complex EPC heavy civil project and looking for motivated, hands-on, collaborative innovators, doers, and problem solvers. The projects are hydro power generation with scopes including roadway development, significant structures including dams, spillways, tunnel waterways, inlet/outlet structures, hydromechanical equipment, mechanical and electrical systems, and site facilities and buildings. Job Summary:
The Engineer (Procurement Support) provides discipline engineering support for procurement activities associated with civil, mechanical, or electrical equipment, materials, and services required for the Salt River Project. The role supports the preparation of technical procurement documentation, vendor data reviews, material requisitions, bid package development, and supplier coordination activities.
Working under the direction of senior procurement engineering personnel, the Engineer assists in ensuring procurement deliverables are technically accurate, issued on schedule, and aligned with project requirements, quality standards, and engineering procedures. This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in the engineering–procurement interface on a major EPC hydroelectric project.#LI-RM1
Major Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation of Material Requisitions (MRs), technical specifications, datasheets, requisition packages, and procurement deliverables.
- Compile engineering inputs from various disciplines for procurement packages.
- Assist in maintaining procurement package registers and tracking logs.
- Participate in technical review of vendor quotations and supplier submissions.
- Support preparation of technical bid comparison matrices and evaluation documentation.
- Review vendor documents for conformance with project requirements.
- Track and document technical clarifications issued to suppliers.
- Assist in resolution of routine technical queries from procurement and suppliers.
- Coordinate vendor document reviews with discipline engineers.
- Monitor supplier submittal schedules and facilitate timely engineering reviews.
- Maintain action item logs associated with procurement packages.
- Track status of assigned procurement engineering deliverables.
- Support preparation of procurement progress reports and package status updates
- Maintain records and document traceability within project systems.
- Support project reporting requirements related to procurement engineering activities.
- Ensure procurement deliverables comply with project standards, specifications, and procedures.
- Participate in quality reviews of requisitions and procurement documentation.
- Support implementation of safety-in-design and constructability requirements.
- Ensure compliance with document control and configuration management requirements.
- Follow applicable engineering, quality, and project execution procedures.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
- 8-10 years of professional engineering experience on infrastructure, hydropower, power, industrial, or EPC projects.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience in engineering design, procurement support, vendor data review, or equipment specification development.
- Familiarity with procurement documentation including material requisitions, datasheets, and technical specifications.
- Basic understanding of technical bid evaluation and supplier document review processes.
- Knowledge of engineering-procurement interfaces within EPC projects.
- Familiarity with electronic document management systems such as Aconex, ACC, or equivalent.
- Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary project environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage assigned tasks and meet project deadlines.
