Insurance Analyst I

Position Overview

We are seeking an Insurance Analyst I to support patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies by facilitating insurance verification, prior authorizations, appeals, and reimbursement activities. This role plays a critical part in helping patients gain access to prescribed therapies while ensuring a high level of customer service and accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Verify medical and pharmacy insurance benefits and coverage.
  • Process and monitor prior authorizations and appeals.
  • Communicate with insurance carriers, providers, and patients regarding claim and authorization status.
  • Research reimbursement guidelines, coverage requirements, and financial assistance options.
  • Document patient and insurance information accurately in internal systems.
  • Resolve insurance-related issues and escalate complex cases as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in healthcare, pharmacy, reimbursement, insurance, or patient access support.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare call center, insurance provider, specialty pharmacy, or healthcare office.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Insurance verification
    • Pharmacy and medical billing
    • Prior authorizations and appeals
    • Commercial and government insurance programs
    • Reimbursement processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and navigating multiple systems.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pharmacy call center experience.
  • Medical claims processing experience.
  • Specialty pharmacy or patient assistance program experience.

Work Environment

  • Fully remote, work-from-home position.
  • Must have a private, HIPAA-compliant workspace free of distractions.
  • Primarily outbound calls to insurance payers, providers, and healthcare stakeholders.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
