Lead Engineer, Technical Program Management

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary local project coordinator for the high-precision assembly program.
• Develop and maintain project plans covering scope, deliverables, schedules, milestones, resources, dependencies, costs and risks.
• Track actions, deliverables and decisions; organize project, technical, risk and gate reviews; follow up owners and due dates
• Work with local and US engineers to understand technical issues and program impact.
• Ensure issues are assigned to the appropriate technical owners and driven to timely resolution.
• Identify and communicate technical, schedule, resource, supply-chain, quality and manufacturing risks; coordinate mitigation, contingency and recovery actions.
• Coordinate prototype builds, engineering builds, design verification and process-development trials.
• Support industrialization and manufacturing-transfer activities, including process qualification, pilot production, production-readiness reviews and ramp-up.
• Coordinate equipment, tooling, fixtures, metrology, materials, suppliers, facility requirements, and training/qualification activities.
• Coordinate communication across US and Vietnam teams and supporting functions.
• Provide regular project updates to the Director of Engineering and US Program Manager.
• Prepare project dashboards, management presentations and reports covering schedule, milestones, risks, actions, resources and overall program health.
• Coordinate project documentation, specifications, drawings, bills of materials, test plans, work instructions and inspection plans.
• Ensure project activities and deliverables support applicable customer, quality, cleanliness, ISO and EHS requirements.
• Support special project assignments and continuous improvement as required.

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, Optics, Materials Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in engineering project management, product development, manufacturing, NPI, or a related technical environment.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional and international engineering projects.
• Experience supporting products from development through industrialization and production ramp.
• Experience with high-precision mechanical/optical assemblies, semiconductor equipment, engineered ceramics, aerospace, or other high-precision industries is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

• Strong project planning, scheduling, coordination, risk management and follow-up skills.
• Sufficient technical knowledge to understand complex engineering topics, assess program impact, and communicate effectively with engineers and management.
• Ability to coordinate technical work without assuming subject-matter expert ownership.
• Strong facilitation, problem-solving, decision-support and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to work effectively across functions, sites, cultures and time zones in a matrix organization.
• Strong presentation and reporting skills, including PowerPoint and project dashboards.
• Knowledge of NPI, engineering change control, manufacturing transfer and production-readiness processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling tools and Microsoft Office.

Working Conditions

• This role will work across office, manufacturing-floor, cleanroom and testing-laboratory environments.
• Occasional international travel and meetings outside standard Vietnam working hours may be required.
