3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The day-to-day treasurer supports the Head of Treasury in managing cash operations.
The role is responsible for day-to-day treasury operations
The key responsibilities of day-to-day treasurer will be, but not limited to, the following:
Management of:
- Manage cash operations
- Short term investments
- Determine daily cash positions
- Monitor liquidity
- Manage short-term cash forecast (12 months)
- Report on company liquidity
- Understanding of SARB/Excon requirements
- Functional understanding of insurance
- Good understanding of banking requirements such as FICA and KYC requirements
- Ability to do payment runs on banking platforms and ERP’s
4. COMMUNICATION AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal:
- Head of Treasury, CFO, Accounting, FP&A, Tax
- Operations, AIFA
- Administration and Support Functions teams (Proc, HR, IT, Legal,…)
- Decentralised Entity Finance teams
- Health & Safety Team
External:
- Contractual Counterparties
5. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Education
- Finance degree.
Language
- English: excellent communication skills spoken, written and verbal.
Software skills
- High degree of skill in Business Computing Applications such as Word Processors, Spreadsheets, PowerPoint and Enterprise Resource Planning applications (SAP or equivalent).
- Advanced level excel skills.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years in treasury operations, financial risk management, project financing, relationship with local banking community, preferably in a renewable sector or a large multinational company, with bottom up budget preparation.
- Experience in cash operations management
- In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, including SARB approval, and compliance requirements.
- Solid understanding of risk management principles and internal control frameworks, with experience in ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Strong business and financial acumen (understanding of key operational and business indicators driving financial performance e.g. gross margin, profit and cash flow).
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, capability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels.
- Ability to act independently to prioritize, initiate, resolve and complete actions required to take the business forward to meet goals
