JOB TITLE: Raw Material Handler
DESCRIPTION: Facility Level Supply Chain and Planning functions involved in handling or scheduling of materials, resources or product.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

We are looking for a reliable, safety-conscious and organized Raw Material Handler to support our production operations by ensuring the timely and accurate receiving, handling, storage and issuing of raw materials. The successful candidate will ensure that the correct materials are available for production while maintaining accurate stock records, material traceability and a safe, clean working environment.

THE ROLE:

In this exciting role, you will:

• Receive, inspect and verify raw materials against delivery documentation.
• Safely offload, move and store raw materials in designated areas.
• Issue raw materials to production according to production schedules, job cards and material requirements.
• Ensure the correct material, quantity, specification and batch/lot number are supplied to production.
• Collect, identify and return unused materials to the appropriate storage areas.
• Maintain accurate stock records and perform regular stock counts.
• Capture material movements accurately on the relevant ERP/stock control system.
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages, discrepancies, damaged or non-conforming materials.
• Ensure proper identification, labelling and traceability of all raw materials.
• Operate material-handling equipment, including pallet jacks and forklifts, where authorized and licensed.
• Ensure raw materials are handled and stored safely to prevent damage, contamination and wastage.
• Liaise with Production, Planning, Procurement and Warehouse teams regarding material requirements.
• Assist in preventing production delays by ensuring materials are available when required.
• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards within the warehouse and material storage areas.
• Comply with all company policies, health and safety requirements, PPE standards and quality procedures.
• Report unsafe conditions, incidents, damaged materials and equipment immediately.
• Assist with stocktaking and investigations into stock variances.
• Perform any other reasonable duties required by management in support of the production operation.

EDUCATIONAL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Matric Certificate.
• Forklift license advantageous.
• High levels of accuracy.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to perceive.
• Good communication and analytical skills.
• Must be able to solve problems.
• Must be prepared to work shifts.
• Must Flexible.
• Be accountable and Responsible.
