Purpose of Job
Provide specialised support and expertise to an assigned portfolio or customer to enable them with access to learning tools and learning programmes that support the capability development in line with business requirements.
Proactively and continuously seek to understand and anticipate business requirements and translate these into competency development requirements to advice on the appropriate learning tools (solutions), methods and programmes that will enable business appropriately.
Key Accountabilities
- Act as Learning’s point of contact for a business critical function or OME to provide learning solutions and support the Learning Manager.
- Ensure that the business unit is able to link with the broader learning initiatives and strategies, as well as projects, roll-outs, and aligns with talent management initiatives.
- Conduct and execute on the sourcing of learning products and services to enable agreed learning solutions for the business unit ensuring economies of scale.
- Evaluate preferred learning service providers and make recommendations as per the suitability of their offerings.
- Ensure vendor evaluation forms are completed and logged.
- Provide expert advice and recommendations regarding training providers and emerging learning service offerings.
- Assure learning interventions' quality and adherence to minimum standards and learning framework.
- Ensure awareness of minimum standards and communicate any changes or amendments.
- Interpret and propose implementation of standards which will be fit for the assigned business unit.
- Support the business unit in improving performance by assisting and delivering capability gap closing strategies.
- Support the business with the required reporting and analytics for the assigned portfolio.
- Analyse all interventions to determine which accredited courses are core to the BU’s PIVOTAL Plan and should be NQF aligned (qualification; scarce & critical skills).
- Develop the improvement plan for Learning Functional Performance Enhancement.
- Provide the business unit with fit-for-purpose learning solutions.
- Find a solution for problems with regional reach, source solutions with a regional reach. This includes facilitating conversation and content development sessions and facilitating execution between service provider, systems and client.
- Integrate and align mandated cross OME training.
- Ensure that training interventions are cost effective, addresses business needs, aligned to the Sasol's learning delivery approach and designed for maximum transfer of learning at the workplace.
- Engage and manage Learning Management System Administrators to ensure the business can access the learning tools and that learning is registered.
- Ensure business processes are in place for efficient Learning Management System Administration activities.
- Manage requests from OME’s pertaining to additional reporting, large content updates and other that impacts on Learning Management System Administration workload.
- Act as an advocate and encourage Learning Manager’s contribution to Communities of Practice.
- Stay informed on competency frameworks and integration of learning and talent via the talent management system.
- Ensure adherence to required learning legislation.
- Support and enable functional learning requirement.
- Manage the Learning Practitioners and their output to business as well as supporting role to the L&DS Functions and Enablement
- Responsible for the SDF Role for Sasol Oil business. Generate and submit WSP/ATR, Apply and track Discretionary Grants (DGs)
- Budget input and management in line with BBB-EE SD element
- Manage and support learnerships initiatives within the area of responsibility including recruitment processes. Participate and provide inputs into third party annual BBB-EE audits (Commissioner’s Report and Board Report)
- Partner with Graduate Centre on early career development programmes in line with Business Strategic objectives
