Lead, IT Business Partnerships & Projects

Job description:

Purpose

Lead strategic business engagement initiatives across the organization to maximize the value delivered by IT and Digital solutions and accelerate digital transformation. Build and maintain strong relationships with senior business leaders, align IT strategy with business objectives, and champion organizational change management to drive the successful adoption of technology initiatives and sustainable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Business Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with leaders and stakeholders
  • Serve as primary liaison between IT & Digital and business leadership, ensuring technology investments align with strategic objectives
  • Act as trusted advisor on technology trends, digital capabilities, and transformation opportunities
  • Facilitate planning sessions and workshops with departments to identify digital transformation opportunities and innovation initiatives, and drive digital strategy and prioritization

Business Value & Portfolio Management

  • Partner with leaders to shape the IT & Digital portfolio, ensuring optimal resource allocation to high-value initiatives
  • Support IT Finance and procurement management processes
  • Develop business cases with clear value propositions, ROI analysis, and benefits realization approaches
  • Conduct portfolio reviews with stakeholders to assess strategic alignment, business impact, and investment priorities
  • Champion data-driven decision making and ensure IT investments deliver measurable business outcomes

Change Management & Digital Adoption

  • Design and implement enterprise-wide change management strategies for major technology initiatives and digital transformation programs
  • Lead organizational readiness assessments and develop comprehensive change management plans including communication strategies and training programs
  • Oversee user adoption initiatives, ensuring business users are equipped and motivated to leverage new technologies effectively
  • Drive digital transformation and supporting changes in the organizational culture

Requirements Management & Solution Alignment

  • Lead requirements-gathering initiatives, ensuring business needs are thoroughly understood and documented
  • Conduct business impact assessments and gap analysis to inform solution architecture and implementation approaches
  • Validate that delivered solutions meet business acceptance criteria and champion user-centric design principles

Governance & Performance Management

  • Establish business engagement frameworks, standards, and best practices across IT & Digital
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators for business engagement effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Lead regular business reviews to assess IT service delivery, project performance, and value realization
  • Manage escalations and drive continuous improvement in business engagement practices

Team Leadership & Capability Building

  • Establish capability development programs to enhance business analysis, stakeholder management, and change management skills
  • Build organizational capability in digital literacy and technology-enabled business transformation

Qualifications

  • Minimum Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, data science etc.
  • Masters will be an added Advantage.
  • All academic qualifications and results must be verified by the Zambia Qualifications Authority (ZAQA).

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of related experience in IT Project Management/ IT Business Partnership or leadership roles
  • Proven experience as an IS Superintendent, IT Project Manager/IT Engagements or similar role
  • Experience managing software development projects or IT projects
  • Relevant Project Management certifications i.e. Scrum Master, PMP, Prince 2 certifications etc.
  • Member of ICTAZ or EIZ
