Project Overview:

Bechtel helps customers deliver projects of purpose that create a lasting positive legacy globally. These large, complex and multi-disciplined projects create jobs, grow economies and provide opportunities for local and regional communities.

The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The Project is owned by Harmony, a world-class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.

Bechtel is delivering the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) scope for the Eva Copper Process Plant and Non-Process Infrastructure. Bechtel is providing these EPC services across all disciplines and functions for this exciting capital project.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will support inventory and warehouse management for a small to medium project site. The role will be primarily based in a warehouse and laydown facility located in the town of Clouncurry, QLD. Your efforts will support adequate and accurate materials and equipment at the jobsite.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Directs the physical count and inspection of arriving material
    Oversees the reviewing of receiving documentation including commercial invoices, reviewing packing lists and bills of lading for completeness and accuracy
  • Reviews Material Receiving Reports (MRRs) for completeness, accuracy, and timeliness
    Continually audits system data for accuracy and timeliness, generates reports and graphs to illustrate metrics
    Ensures documentation is generated to record unsatisfactory over, short, and damage conditions of material received
  • Takes the lead to ensures that corrective action is expeditiously completed, and that formal UOS&D Reports are prepared for permanent record
  • Provides direction to assigned personnel to ensure that material is stored in accordance with the project procurement storage plan and that the location of material in storage is properly recorded on the appropriate storage records (manually or automated)
  • Reviews the completion of physical inventories on a timely basis to ensure valid records are continuously maintained
    Participates in the project materials protection program in conjunction with other responsible groups within the project organization
    Provides guidance to Inventory Specialists to ensure that issues are properly controlled and documented in accordance with project procedures
  • Disposes of surplus project materials as approved by project management and directed by Field Procurement Management
    Oversees preparation of shipping documents and registers for materials shipped off temporary operating and jobsite locations
    Develops individual jobsite instructions for performance of work within area of responsibility
  • Provides on the job training for assigned employees
    Ensures that control registers are prepared and maintained for industrial gas bottles and returnable reels and containers
    Prepares construction equipment inspection reports for all rental equipment
  • Prepares and maintains construction equipment register
    Prepares and maintains Inventory Control Records (manual and automated)
  • Administers the tool crib inventory on site, including data entry into the tool management system

Education and Experience Requirements:

Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in handling bulk commodities and identifying safety concerns relating to material handling and storage.
  • Knowledge of a field materials management organisation.
  • An understanding of how automated materials management systems keep control of project materials.
  • Knowledge of materials management principals relating to construction projects, such as planning, work packaging, just-in-time deliveries, issue on receipt, and jurisdiction for delivered goods.
