  • A$61,781 – A$73,776

Own your future with a Cadetship at Port Stephens Council (PSC) – ready for commencement in January 2027!

The opportunity

This is your opportunity to earn while you learn your Information Technology Degree, gaining vital hands-on experience under the daily guidance and mentorship of our experienced technical specialists.

Working in a collaborative office environment, you will bridge theory and practice by mastering essential skills, including resolving Level 1 technical service desk requests, configuring computers and mobile devices, supporting Microsoft 365, managing user accounts, and assisting with vital cyber security controls, network testing, and broader ICT project rollouts.

To be successful, you will have a genuine interest in information technology, a comfortable digital aptitude, and a strong sense of responsibility when handling sensitive Council equipment and information.

We are looking for a reliable, curious, and patient team player with clear communication and listening skills, an exceptional customer-service mindset, and the resilience to respond positively to constructive feedback as you learn.

While prior experience with Microsoft 365, device troubleshooting, or customer service is a great bonus, what matters most in your first six months is your consistent attendance, a proactive willingness to learn, and the ability to follow strict security procedures while becoming a dependable member of the ICT team.
