Courier Coordinator

Midland Transport is seeking a Courier Coordinator at our terminal in Corner Brook, NL. The Courier Coordinator is responsible for supporting daily courier operations by ensuring freight is accurately manifested, routes are optimized, customer inquiries are addressed promptly, and operational reporting requirements are completed. This position acts as a key link between drivers, dispatch, customer service, and terminal leadership to ensure service commitments are achieved while maintaining operational efficiency.

Courier Operations

• Coordinate daily courier activities to support on-time pickup and delivery performance.
• Assist with morning courier sort and freight distribution.
• Monitor route progress and communicate service concerns to Operations.
• Support dispatch activities during peak periods and absences.
• Track and follow up on undelivered shipments and service exceptions.
• Ensure courier freight is accurately manifested and scanned.

Customer Service & Communication

• Respond to courier-related customer inquiries and service requests.
• Provide shipment updates and delivery status information.
• Resolve customer concerns or escalate issues as required.
• Support proactive communication regarding service disruptions and delays.

Reporting & Administration

• Complete and distribute daily operational reports.
• Monitor courier performance metrics and service levels.
• Assist with tracking external agent’s freight and other designated customer accounts.
• Maintain accurate operational records and documentation.
• Manage cash collects
• Support payroll preparation and administrative functions as assigned.

Operational Support

• Provide coverage for operational reporting during vacations and absences.
• Assist with appointment scheduling and freight coordination.
• Support OS&D investigations and shipment tracing on courier
• Work closely with Operations Supervisor and Dispatch supervisor to identify service improvement opportunities.
• Assist with training and onboarding of new courier employees.

Compliance & Safety

• Ensure operational processes follow company policies and procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation required for regulatory and company compliance.
• Report any courier vehicle concerns to Ops Supervisor
• Promote safe work practices and report operational concerns.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Transportation, logistics, customer service, or dispatch experience considered an asset.
• Experience in LTL transportation operations preferred.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and transportation management systems.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with customers, drivers, and operational teams.
