What to Expect

Telsa Toronto Automation is seeking a hands-on and experienced Facilities Technician with a strong technical background in building operations and maintenance. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot electrical and HVAC issues, write and follow MOPs, work with building automation and BMS software, and coordinate and perform preventive maintenance to keep the facility running safely and reliably. This role blends hands-on repair work with organized, self-directed problem solving, and close collaboration with vendors and internal teams. Experience in commercial, critical, or manufacturing environments is preferred. You will report directly to the Facilities Manager.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform facility rounds to identify maintenance needs, safety issues, and repair/upkeep items
  • Troubleshoot electrical and HVAC issues; diagnose root causes and repair or escalate as needed
  • Monitor and respond to BMS/building automation alarms; adjust setpoints and support system optimization
  • Write, update, and execute MOPs; coordinate preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and maintain accurate records
  • Complete minor facilities repairs (patching, ceiling tiles, replace light bulbs) and general labour as required (equipment setup, moving office furniture, etc.)
  • Coordinate and oversee vendors/contractors on repairs and projects, working closely with EHS to ensure safety and quality standards
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies; collaborate with EHS, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other teams to support operational requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in facilities maintenance, building operations, or a related field (building operations experience preferred)
  • Experience writing MOPs and performing structured maintenance/troubleshooting work
  • Experience working with building automation and BMS software systems
  • Sound knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, with demonstrated troubleshooting ability; must be able to read line diagrams and electrical schematics
  • Self-motivated, organized, and enjoys solving problems; able to work toward goals with limited oversight. Strong verbal and written communication, attention to detail, flexibility, and ability to prioritize effectively
  • Ability to perform physical labour, lift at least 50 lbs, and climb ladders/stairs. Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Experience working in commercial facilities, critical environments, or manufacturing settings preferred. Forklift and aerial equipment operation experience preferred

Expected Compensation

  • Engineering Technician III - $31.46 - $47.19/hour
  • Engineering Technician IV - $36.08 - $54.12/hour
  • Engineering Technician V - $42.24 - $63.36/hour
  • cash and stock awards + benefits for all levels

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
