About the role
DFDS is on a transformation journey where there is a strong focus on enhancing our data landscape to achieve our strategic goals with data playing a central role in enabling smarter, faster, and more connected decision-making. To support this vision, we are investing in scalable data products, modern platforms, and cross-functional collaboration - and we need a strong Data Consultant to help bring this to life - specifically supporting our data agenda in Group Finance and Decarbonization.
In this role, you will act as a strategic advisor and delivery lead, working closely with stakeholders across Group Finance, Decarbonization and Technology & Innovation to understand business needs, define priorities, and translate them into actionable data solutions.
You’ll lead a cross-functional team of Data Engineers and BI Analysts across multiple countries, ensuring our data products are technically sound, strategically aligned, and deliver measurable business value.
You’ll be responsible for shaping and maintaining the data roadmap and backlog for your area, supporting KPI and OKR definition, and facilitating stakeholder engagement and prioritization. The role requires a strong consultative mindset, the ability to navigate complex business environments, and a focus on enabling consistent delivery through structured planning and collaboration.
You’ll be part of our dynamic and supportive Data Products & Analytics team, working alongside nearly 40 data professionals across Europe. Our environment is collaborative and innovative, with a strong focus on continuous learning, professional development, and delivering real business impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Consulting with business stakeholders to identify data opportunities and shape solutions that support operational and financial performance.
- Owning and maintaining the data roadmap and backlog for your area, ensuring alignment with business priorities and DFDS’s data strategy.
- Leading cross-functional delivery teams, coordinating engineering and visualization efforts to deliver high-impact data products.
- Defining and supporting KPIs and OKRs, in close collaboration with Finance and Decarbonization, to drive transparency and accountability.
- Facilitating prioritization and planning, balancing long-term initiatives with emerging needs across Finance and Decarbonization.
- Ensuring governance and architectural alignment, working with central data teams to embed standards and scalable practices.
- Championing continuous improvement, fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and delivery excellence.
About you
We’re looking for someone who combines strong stakeholder engagement with delivery leadership and a deep understanding of data. You might not tick every box, and that’s okay, but we imagine the ideal candidate brings:
- An analytical mindset with a passion for data
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across all levels of an organisation
- A good mix of technical capabilities and project management skills
- Ability to maintain a holistic overview of a large business area and help steer prioritization for development to ensure we get the most value out of our data
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments, and understand how to drive delivery in cross-functional teams
- An understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting, and core Finance processes, with the ability to translate Finance requirements into data-driven solutions.
- An understanding of calculating and reporting greenhouse gas emissions, and specifically using the GLEC framework, is an advantage.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a similar role
