As a Lead Product Designer at Siemens, you’re a design leader in practice — even without a management title. You’ll operate at the intersection of design craft and strategic influence, shaping product direction, setting team quality standards, and building design capability across the organization. You’ll own the most complex design problems, represent design in stakeholder conversations, and be a formative influence on Siemens’ AI-powered product experiences. This role suits designers with 7–10+ years of experience who are ready to lead without authority.

Core Responsibilities:

• Own design strategy and vision for a product domain, aligning user outcomes with business goals.
• Lead complex, cross-team and platform-level design challenges while setting and maintaining design quality standards.
• Shape product roadmaps through research, user insights, and design thinking, representing design with senior leaders and stakeholders.
• Evolve and govern the design system, defining scalable patterns and standards.
• Provide technical design leadership through mentoring, feedback, pair-designing, and skills development, without direct people management responsibilities.
• Drive research-informed design by partnering with research teams and translating findings into strategic decisions.
• Define the AI design vision and principles for your domain, including trust, explainability, automation, and user control.
• Lead high-impact AI-powered experiences and establish scalable AI design standards across Siemens.
• Evaluate AI design tools, build team AI fluency, and contribute to responsible and ethical AI practices.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 7-10+ years of progressive product design experience with a strong technical/design leadership trajectory.
• Advanced Figma and design toolchain expertise, including prototyping, design tokens, and design system governance at scale.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-team design programs and shape product strategy through design.
• Strong research skills, from framing questions and partnering on studies to applying insights to design strategy.
• Strong executive communication and ability to influence senior stakeholders through evidence-based design decisions.
• Portfolio demonstrating design leadership, strategic impact, and measurable user outcomes.
• Nice to have: AI product design from concept to scale; industrial, infrastructure, healthcare, or enterprise software experience; facilitation of design sprints, vision workshops, or futures thinking; principal/design system leadership; or organizational design operations and practice-building.

Our Benefits & Rewards

The salary range for this position is $44,000 to $96,700 and this role is eligible to earn incentive compensation. The actual compensation offered is based on the successful candidate's job-related skills, experience, and relevant education/training.
