Context & Environment

TotalEnergies is looking for anExperienced 3D/4D Seismic Processing Geophysicist.

Whitin the Geophysics Imaging & Characterization (GIC) entity, you will contribute to the exploration, development and optimization effort of our assets through state-of-the-art subsurface imaging and monitoring in challenging geological environment with complex and subtle traps.

Your role will be primarily to supervise and perform 3D/4D processing projects in close connection with specialists of the geophysical line of work: seismic acquisition, processing, imaging, quantitative interpretation, 4D monitoring.

Activities

As an Experienced 3D/4D Seismic Processing Geophysicist, you will be in charge in particular of:

• Design & contribute to the scope of work definition integrating the objective of the projects in cooperation with our stakeholders
• Create and update the processing sequences in collaboration with the processing specialists and contractors.
• Perform hands-on 3D/4D signal processing & QC, and/or seismic imaging, of seismic datasets in terms of quality, deadlines and costs using commercial software.
• Supervise 3D/4D seismic processing carried out externally by various Seismic Processing & Imaging Contractors, optimizing quality using in-house tools, deadlines & costs and managing communication with clients.
• Manage multiple projects autonomously & simultaneously
• Contribute to the evolution of the tools in close connection with R&D teams
• Follow up & monitor technology evolution of contractor & peer/partner operations
• Responsible of technical part of the Call For Tender process.
• Liaise with seismic acquisition, seismic imaging and seismic inversion colleagues & support operations ensuring optimum fit-for-purpose data quality is provided safely during acquisition
• Promote main results internally and externally at all levels
• Manage HPC resources with other users to maximize efficient throughput
• Contribute to Asset Team JV Partner meetings & workshops as requested / required.
• Support, mentor & train (on-the-job) all junior members of the team.

The position holder, in cooperation with his/her Team Leader / Processing or Imaging Specialist, will also occasionally be involved in other activities such as tenders, selection and following contractors, improvement of methodological studies and knowledge in acquisition and/or processing (market development and mentoring).

Candidate Profile

Holding a Master’s degree (MSc) or a PhD in Physics, Geophysics, or an equivalent scientific discipline, you have significant experience of at least 10 years in 3D/4D seismic processing and imaging. You are comfortable working in an international environment and have a strong command of professional English.

With strong analytical and problem-solving skills, you are able to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex technical topics to a wide range of stakeholders.
