Job Description:
Working within FalconWorks, BAE Systems’ innovation and research environment, this role offers the opportunity to help shape the supply chains that will support future technologies, products and capabilities. Operating in a fast-paced and collaborative setting, you will work closely with engineering, commercial and technology teams to identify new suppliers, develop strategic sourcing solutions and enable the successful delivery of pioneering research and development programmes. Your contribution will support projects spanning advanced systems, Factory of the Future Training and Support.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence future supply chain strategies while gaining exposure to emerging technologies, new product development and innovative supplier ecosystems. You will play a key role in building high-performing supplier relationships, identifying value opportunities and supporting business growth. With a considerable focus on collaboration, continuous improvement and market engagement, this role offers you excellent opportunities to develop commercial, procurement and strategic supply chain knowledge within one of BAE Systems’ most forward-looking environments
Core duties:
- Identify, evaluate and onboard new suppliers, building resilient supply chains that support emerging technologies and future product development programmes
- Guide sourcing, tendering and contracting activities, negotiating commercial agreements, overseeing RFQs, NDAs and purchase orders through Infor LN
- Collaborate with Engineering, Programme Management, Commercial and Finance teams to deliver innovative procurement solutions aligned to business goals
- Conduct supplier capability assessments, ensure strategic supplier relationships and act as the primary commercial interface for contractual matters
- Assess spend, monitor supplier performance and deliver cost-saving opportunities while improving quality, delivery performance and long-term supply chain resilience
Essential Skills:
- Accomplished experience within a procurement or supply chain function, delivering sourcing and supplier management activities
- Demonstrated success identifying continuous improvement opportunities, solving highly detailed tasks and delivering measurable business benefits
- Experience overseeing commercial negotiations, including pricing, contractual terms and supplier agreement management
- Considerable understanding of supplier risk, opportunity and performance management within a regulated or multi-layered environment
- Ability to evaluate procurement data, engage stakeholders effectively and influence sourcing strategies that support business targets and long-term value creation
