About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Road Safety Specialist to support the planning, design, construction supervision, and operation of road, highway, and bridge infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that road safety principles are integrated throughout the project lifecycle, reducing accident risks and improving safety outcomes for all road users.
Responsibilities
- Conduct road safety assessments, inspections, and audits at the feasibility, design, construction, and post-construction stage
- Identify high-risk locations, accident black spots, and safety deficiencies within existing and proposed road networks
- Review highway and bridge designs to ensure compliance with road safety standards and safe-system principles
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, preferably with Master’s degree in traffic engineering or related field
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in assessing and designing road safety measures and conducting road safety audits and preparing safety enhancement plans, preferably for road projects funded by MDBs
- Male or female
- Good communication in English Language
Preferred Skills
- Strong knowledge of road safety engineering principles and Safe System Approach
- Familiarity with international road safety standards and guidelines
- Knowledge of traffic signs, road markings, guardrails, and roadside safety devices
- Technical report writing
