New Simberi Gold Limited (NSGL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Tabar Island Holdings Pty Ltd, a joint venture between St Barbara Limited and Lingbao Gold International Co. Ltd.

We are currently seeking 2x Expeditors to join our team in a permanent full-time position at our Simberi Operation. Your work location is Papua New Guinea, working a 21/14 Roster from Kavieng, Rabaul, Buka, Port Moresby, Lae, Mt Hagen, Madang, Goroka, Alotau, Wapenamanda, Popondetta, Hoskins, Wewak, Vanimo, or Tabar group of Islands. (Locals are encouraged to apply).
Reporting to the Senior Purchasing Officer, the Expeditor is responsible for monitoring and coordinating the timely delivery of materials, equipment, spare parts and services required to support mining operations. The role works closely with Procurement, Supply, suppliers, freight providers and operational departments to track purchase orders, identify potential delays and proactively resolve issues to ensure critical supplies are available when required.

The opportunity
Technical accountabilities
- Working closely with Purchasing Officers/ Purchasing Support Officer to ensure that goods, tools, equipment’s, machine parts arrive onsite on time to prevent costly operational delays.
- Expedite purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Ensure Purchase Order reach the suppliers
- Ensure supplier acknowledges receipt of the Purchase Order.
- Provide accurate updates to departments regarding the status of their POS.
- Updating pronto with correct due dates
- Monitor suppliers’ performance, advise Purchasing TEAM if supplier is not responding effectively/ efficiently.
- Tracking POS from when PO was created to final destinations, Simberi Islands
- Expediting is the Vital Link between Operations/Maintenance Team, warehouse staff, external suppliers to resolve supply chain problems
Scheduling Accountabilities
- Prioritize Expediting requirements to ensure operational needs are met within required timeframes.
- Expedite orders and monitor shipment schedules to prevent supply delays.
- Manage competing priorities while maintaining quality and cost effectiveness.
- Be available to work outside normal hours when operational requirements dictate.
- Update users/ operation on status of POS

Essential
- Behaviour consistent with New Simberi Gold Values
- Sound understanding of an ‘Expeditor’s’ role in the Supply chain operations
- Grade 12 Certificate or any higher institutions - minimum
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience within the mining industry in Supply and Logistics
- Substantial experience with ERP program Pronto
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, spreadsheets, and internet applications.
- Experience coordinating staff other supply/logistics team staff
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal/written)
- Ability to read, write, and understand purchasing and procurement documentation.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Commitment to workplace safety and company values.
Desirable
- Current and Valid Driver's License
- Solid experience in Windows programs – Outlook, Word, Excel
- Previous experience within a remote resources FIFO operation
- Exposure to procurement systems and inventory management processes
- Experience in supplier relationship management & administration
- Knowledge of mining industry supply chain and logistics operations
- Demonstrated experience contributing to continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to manage time commitment based on operational requirements
- Previous experience with expedition processes, and understanding of Supply related analytics
