Test & Validation Engineer

We are looking for a Test & Validation Engineer to support the development of safe, reliable and deployment-ready autonomous mobility products. In this role, you will conceive and translate technical requirements into validation plans, execute component, system, vehicle and feature tests, and analyze the resulting data. You will work across engineering disciplines to identify issues, verify corrective actions and provide objective evidence of product quality, performance and readiness.

What will you do?

• Produce repeatable, objective and traceable verification evidence.
• Protect people, vehicles and equipment through disciplined test execution.
• Report failures accurately without obscuring uncertainty.
• Maintain calibrated equipment and trustworthy test configurations.
• Identify coverage gaps and residual risks before release.
• Drive defects to evidence-based closure and confirm fixes.
• Act as an independent technical voice for product quality and readiness.
• Provide input for FUSA.
• Support homologation plans and timeline.
• Communicate progress, assumptions, risks and trade-offs early.
• Promote practical innovation, ownership and cross-functional teamwork.
• Be available for team for consultations and decisions.
• Reporting and informing Team (and management) about relevant topics.

Regular tasks

• Write part and system requirement according to best practices.
• Translate requirements into test plans, procedures and acceptance criteria.
• Prepare test vehicles, benches, instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Execute component, subsystem, vehicle and feature tests.
• Analyze results, record defects and publish concise validation reports.
• Maintain requirement-to-test traceability and evidence repositories.
• Coordinate retests and closure with design, embedded, software and product colleagues.
• Prepare necessary homologation paperwork.

Occasional tasks

• Run field, durability, environmental and operational scenario testing.
• Support demonstrations, pilots and fleet readiness activities.
• Develop automated tests, fixtures and reusable data-analysis methods.
• Lead failure reproduction and root cause investigations.
• Support certification, audits and supplier validation.
• Travel for proving-ground, supplier or deployment testing.

Decision-making authorities

• Select appropriate methods, equipment and sample coverage for assigned tests.
• Confirm whether test evidence meets approved acceptance criteria.
• Open defects and require corrective action or additional evidence.
• Prioritize execution within the agreed validation plan.
• Stop or suspend any test presenting an uncontrolled safety risk.
• Recommend readiness, conditional readiness or non-readiness to leadership.

Managerial authorities

• Conduct and define appropriate validations processes with certification authorities.

What do you need to succeed?

• Mid-level to Senior, typically 4+ years in vehicle, embedded, robotics or complex-system validation, ideally has ADS experience and expertise.
• Automotive or mechatronic testing.
• Requirements and traceability.
• Instrumentation and data acquisition.
• Diagnostics.
• Test automation.
• Statistics and data analysis.
• Failure investigation.
• Clear technical reporting.
• Applying AI to improve workflow.
