3D Data & Prototyping Engineer (Student/Junior)

We are looking for a highly motivated student or junior engineer with an interest in 3D data, CAD and hands-on prototyping. In this role, you will help organize and maintain engineering data, prepare parts for rapid prototyping and support the creation of physical models, fixtures and vehicle prototypes. You will work closely with experienced engineers while helping the team turn ideas into tangible solutions quickly and efficiently.

What will you do?
  • Keep 3D data accurate, findable, current and traceable.
  • Deliver prototypes that match the approved request and revision.
  • Protect confidential engineering data and follow access rules.
  • Operate equipment safely and report maintenance needs.
  • Provide clear status, lead-time constraints and material needs.
  • Learn quickly, ask focused questions and close tasks reliably.
  • Contribute energy, curiosity and hands-on problem solving.
  • Support reliable prototypes and transfer toward production.
  • Communicate progress, assumptions, risks and trade-offs early.
  • Promote practical innovation, ownership and cross-functional teamwork.
  • Be available for team for consultations and decisions.
  • Reporting and informing Team (and management) about relevant topics.
Regular tasks
  • Organize CAD files, part numbers, revisions and prototype records.
  • Check naming, metadata, links and basic release-package completeness.
  • Prepare and operate 3D printing and rapid-prototyping equipment.
  • Create simple CAD parts, fixtures, mock-ups and print-ready files.
  • Track prototype parts, materials, consumables and workshop requests.
  • Document build results and keep shared workspaces orderly.
Occasional tasks
  • Support prototype and vehicle build events.
  • Assist with scans, measurements, photography and test data collection.
  • Research new materials, printers, suppliers and fabrication methods.
  • Maintain equipment and help improve workshop safety and organization.
  • Present improvement ideas or prototype learnings to the team.
  • Order part and create POs.
Decision-making authorities
  • Prioritize assigned data-cleanup and prototype queue tasks.
  • Choose a suitable low-risk prototyping method within provided guidance.
  • Return incomplete or incorrectly structured data for correction.
  • Recommend naming, storage and workflow improvements.
  • Pause equipment use when quality or safety conditions are not met.
  • Escalate configuration conflicts, controlled-data changes and design concerns.
Managerial authorities
  • Source external suppliers.
What do you need to succeed?
  • Student / internship role, with demonstrated personal, university or maker-project experience preferred.
  • Good knowledge of various CAD Software.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • 3D printing interest.
  • Hands-on mindset.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Reliable communication, applying AI to improve workflow.
