Specialist, Microbiology – Sales & Marketing

Purpose of Job:

Managing products, market penetration and business expansion.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage products assigned which include sales forecast, stocks planning, marketing strategies and communication with principals.
  • Provide support to the sales team through joint visits to the laboratories, provide internal product training and other forms of knowledge support.
  • Work closely with Regulatory Team to ensure new products are being registered on timely basis.
  • Develop sales strategies and achieve overall sales targets and objectives.
  • Develop, plan and manage marketing communication strategies and campaigns to support sales.
  • Manage overall project sales performance and ensure each sales executive meets individual sales targets.
  • Targeting new sales, creating new accounts, and exploiting new business opportunities for major market segments as well as developing and implementing sales strategies.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with principal to obtain accurate pricing and technical support.
  • Participate in proposals for business development projects and tenders.
  • Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge in assigned area of coverage, giving effective product presentation.
  • Follow up and work closely with sales team members to monitor sales prospects.
  • Maintain professional internal and external relationships that meet company core values.

Requirements

  • Strong product and technical knowledge in Clinical Microbiology.
  • Product management, sales forecasting and stock planning.
  • Sales and business development, including prospecting and opportunity management.
  • Marketing planning, campaigns and market penetration strategies.
  • Technical selling, product presentation and sales-team product training.
  • Basic costing, pricing and commercial understanding.
  • Tender and business proposal preparation.
  • Market and competitor analysis.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Clinical Microbiology, product management, sales, marketing, or business development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and business reporting tools.
