We're looking for a senior Software engineer to own a core slice of our product's EDA tooling — spanning data modelling, connectivity/encapsulation flows, and AI capabilities we're building directly into the product. You'll step into an area with real customer-facing impact and significant technical depth, working across the full stack from low-level handling of industry standard collaterals to modern AI-based product architectures.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in semiconductor engineering, ideally with exposure to EDA (Electronic Design Automation) tools, semiconductor design flows, or similar hardware-adjacent domains.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals — Python and/or C++, with the ability to work in complex, long-lived codebases.
• Experience with hardware description/design formats such as Verilog, LEF/DEF, SDC, or UPF is a strong plus.
• Familiarity with building or integrating AI/LLM-based tooling is a significant plus.
• Comfort owning customer-facing bugs and field issues end-to-end — from triage to root cause to fix.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; you'll be a primary point of contact for both customers and internal teams on your areas of ownership.
• Self-directed and comfortable operating with ambiguity — much of the AI work is greenfield and evolving quickly.

Nice to Have

• Prior experience in chip design, physical verification, or power analysis workflows.
• Experience building developer tools, CLIs, or SDKs.
• Track record of taking a project from prototype to production deployment.

Responsibilities

• Product Data Model — our physical-aware data model that powers the product, triaging and resolving customer-reported issues and driving flow improvements.
• Product Tooling (Connectivity & Encapsulation) — supporting and enhancing core connectivity/encapsulation tooling within the product, including testing, and enhancing encapsulation flows in the context of proteanTecs' agents.
• AI Solutions — joining the team that builds and grows AI capabilities as part of the product, from architecture through deployment.
• Acting as a go-to technical resource for customers and internal teams on the above.
