A Day in the Life

The Digital Technologies function within Medtronic Engineering & Innovation Center (MEIC) partners with Global Business Units (GBUs) to deliver software solutions that support product development, operational excellence, and business transformation initiatives across the enterprise. The team leads complex software programs spanning enterprise platforms, cloud and mobile applications, and regulated medical technology environments, enabling scalable and compliant solutions that advance patient care and business outcomes.
This position is based in Hyderabad, India and follows a Flex work model. No travel is required for this role.

The Principal Program Analyst leads medium to high complexity software development programs and serves as the primary point of coordination across cross-functional teams. This role is responsible for driving program execution, managing stakeholder engagement, establishing governance processes, and delivering actionable insights that support successful business and technology outcomes.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of complex software development programs aligned to business and organizational objectives.
  • Partner with engineering leaders, technical teams, and business stakeholders to define program scope, milestones, deliverables, and success metrics.
  • Develop and maintain integrated project plans, schedules, resource forecasts, and program dashboards to ensure execution transparency.
  • Analyze program performance metrics and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive stakeholder communication through regular status reviews, governance meetings, Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), and executive updates.
  • Identify, assess, and manage program risks, issues, dependencies, and mitigation plans throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Apply Agile, Waterfall, or Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies to support predictable and compliant program execution.
  • Champion program management best practices and continuous improvement initiatives across project teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Engineering discipline and 13+ years of relevant experience, including 5+ years leading software development projects or programs.
  • Experience managing enterprise software, cloud, mobile application, or embedded software development projects from planning through delivery.
  • Experience using project and program management tools such as Microsoft Project, Jira, and Confluence.
  • Experience applying Agile, Waterfall, or Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies in a project delivery environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional stakeholders, project risks, schedules, budgets, and scope.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification.
  • Experience working within regulated industries, including medical device development environments.
  • Knowledge of Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Quality System Regulations, European medical device regulatory requirements, and IEC 62304 standards.
  • Experience leading global teams and collaborating across multiple geographic locations and functions.
