You will drive complex product development programs from concept through qualification and production launch while influencing technical decisions, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with global stakeholders to deliver high-quality, reliable, and manufacturable solutions.

Our Team

You will be part of Molex's Connector Design Engineering team within Product Development. Our team works closely with global engineering, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, marketing, product management, suppliers, and customers to develop industry-leading connectivity solutions that enable a more connected world. We foster a collaborative environment focused on innovation, technical excellence, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the development of connector, interconnect, cable assembly, and networking products from concept through production launch and lifecycle support.
  • Translate customer requirements and market needs into technical solutions, product architectures, design requirements, and engineering execution plans.
  • Drive technical decision-making throughout design, validation, qualification, and release activities while ensuring alignment with quality, cost, schedule, and reliability objectives.
  • Lead design reviews, feasibility studies, risk assessments, and cross-functional engineering discussions to drive robust product development outcomes.
  • Apply engineering expertise in plastic, sheet metal, casting, plated, and electromechanical component design to create manufacturable and reliable products.
  • Drive DFMEA, risk mitigation planning, validation strategies, and evidence-based qualification decisions throughout the development lifecycle.
  • Coordinate new product introduction activities including tooling development, manufacturing validation, qualification testing, engineering change implementation, and production release.
  • Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, reliability, sourcing, suppliers, marketing, and customer teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations, design reviews, project updates, and customer-facing engineering communications.
  • Provide technical leadership for troubleshooting, customer issue resolution, sustaining engineering activities, and disposition decisions.
  • Champion engineering best practices, standardization efforts, lessons learned, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.
  • Drive structured problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and improve product performance and reliability.
  • Mentor and support engineers by sharing technical expertise, strengthening development capabilities, and promoting engineering excellence.
  • Identify opportunities to improve engineering productivity through automation, digital engineering, simulation-driven development, and knowledge management practices.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 8-12 years of experience in product design and development of connectors, interconnect systems, cable assemblies, networking products, automotive products, or related electromechanical solutions.
  • Experience leading complex product development projects from concept through validation, qualification, release, and production launch.
  • Experience managing multiple projects while balancing technical requirements, risks, schedules, resources, and customer expectations.
  • Hands-on experience with product design reviews, DFMEA, validation planning, risk assessment, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Proficiency with 2D and 3D CAD tools, preferably Siemens NX (UG NX).
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills in a global engineering environment.
  • Experience influencing technical decisions and mentoring engineers across cross-functional teams.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in connector design, industrial communication, automotive connectivity, networking products, high-speed interconnects, or cable assembly solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of DFM, DFA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, statistical analysis, and reliability engineering principles.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, DVP&R, DFMEA, risk management, and product qualification processes.
  • Ability to interpret FEA results and apply engineering analysis to support design decisions.
  • Experience with Teamcenter, Polarion, or other PLM and engineering lifecycle management systems.
  • Knowledge of IEC, UL, ISO, and other applicable industry standards.
  • Experience supporting global customers, suppliers, manufacturing plants, and cross-functional engineering teams.
