Job overview and responsibilities

The Global Sourcing organization at United Airlines is responsible for procuring goods and services and developing/ managing relationships with third-party providers with the objective of reducing total cost and risk to the company while improving levels of quality, service, and technology.

The primary responsibility for a Strategic Sourcing Specialist in the India Knowledge Center (IKC) of United Airlines is to provide end-to-end procurement support for the operations, maintenance, and strategic management of the organization’s workplace infrastructure. The position will support in vendor management, workplace services, infrastructure maintenance, and compliance initiatives while ensuring alignment with global corporate standards. The Strategic Sourcing Speacilist will partner closely with local suppliers and local leadership teams to ensure the facility operates effectively and meets the evolving needs of the organization. The type of support will include spend analytics, supply market analysis, RFX development and administration, supplier negotiation and selection, contract/SOW redlining, etc. with the goal of capturing total cost of ownership (TCO) savings and driving process efficiencies.

• Support day-to-day operations of the office facility and manage relationships with external suppliers including routine enhancements to agreements, communication of demand/volume changes, updating contracts and sharing end-user feedback.
• Support creation and management of requests for proposal (RFP) process which includes detailed external supply market analysis, internal demand assessment of the category, design and creation of the RFP, system set-up and administration, RFP analysis using total cost of ownership (TCO) concepts, supplier evaluation scorecards, ongoing collaboration and proactive communication with all stakeholder groups on the supplier selection process
• Redline and negotiate contracts by collaborating with United’s legal department, Global Procurment leaders and other local stakeholder
• Participate in vendor management activities which may include following-up on performance against contract (compliance) and resolution of any constraints or issues

This position is offered on local terms and conditions. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for employment visas, even on a time-limited visa status, will not be awarded. This position is for United Airlines Business Services Pvt. Ltd - a wholly owned subsidiary of United Airlines Inc.

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or another business-related field
• 4+ years of experience in sourcing, contract management, global procurement
• Familiarity with Generative AI concepts and prompt writing.
• Exposure to AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, and NotebookLM.
• Highly analytical
• Excellent communication and people skills
