Assistant Sound Operator

Educational Qualification
Minimum Diploma in Sound Engineering, Audio Engineering, Electronics, or a related field will be preferred.

Experience
1–3 years of experience in sound/audio operations, preferably in an auditorium, convention Centre, educational institution, hotel, corporate facility, or similar environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in setting up and operating sound systems for meetings, conferences, seminars, presentations, cultural programmes, and other events.
  • Handle and operate audio equipment such as microphones, mixers, amplifiers, speakers, wireless microphone systems, audio processors, and related accessories.
  • Ensure proper microphone placement, sound levels, audio clarity, and overall sound quality before and during events.
  • Assist the Sound Operator in conducting sound checks and making necessary audio adjustments as required.
  • Support the setup and dismantling of audio equipment before and after events.
  • Monitor sound systems during live events and promptly identify and resolve basic audio-related issues.
  • Basic knowledge of professional audio and sound systems.
  • Familiarity with audio mixers, microphones, amplifiers, speakers, wireless microphone systems, and audio cables/connectors.
  • Basic understanding of audio signal flow and sound levels.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot common audio issues.
  • Basic knowledge of audio systems used for presentations and video conferencing.
  • Good equipment-handling and organizational skills.
  • Responsible and careful in handling technical equipment.
