The Accounting Coordinator, India facilitates efficient transaction processing operations in support of accurate financial record-keeping and revenue management across the organization. This role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, executing transactional tasks, and contributing to process improvements within the finance and billing functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Verify the GSTINs that customers provide on Associate Membership Class invoices, determine ITC eligibility based on those GSTINs, generate accurate data for tax filings, and process e-invoices for eligible B2B customers.
- Respond to GST queries raised by customers.
- Investigate and resolve local transactional discrepancies, billing issues, and payment disputes in a timely manner, liaising with internal teams and external partners as necessary to address inquiries and concerns.
- Prepare a monthly report for intercompany calculations and remittance of funds to CFA Institute, and handle end-to-end foreign remittance formalities in compliance with FEMA and Income Tax regulations.
- Assist in processing routine financial transactions, including, but not limited to, recording journal entries, preparing reconciliations, generating POs for the finance and tax team, reviewing vendor invoices for GL coding, and assisting with monthly closing activities.
- Verify cash collections daily.
- Reconcile daily cash positions in bank accounts, alerting internal parties to any suspicious transactions.
- Maintain bank account documentation with bank counterparties and ensure Kyriba is updated to reflect accurate bank and reserve balances.
- Manage finance contracts in CLX for further processing.
- Support the audit process.
- Coordinate with internal India stakeholders, including business units, technical analysts, and finance, to support end-to-end transactional processes, identifying opportunities for process enhancements and automation.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, financial procedures, and regulatory requirements governing transaction processing activities, while maintaining data integrity and confidentiality. Assist in maintaining procedural documentation for these activities, ensuring adherence to established protocols and facilitating knowledge transfer.
QUALIFICATIONS
- CA Intermediate Qualified Professional with a minimum of three to five years of concentrated experience in cash collection systems, credit card receipt transaction processing systems, and/or banking.
- Strong accounting knowledge with a focus on Goods and Services Tax (GST).
- Project and process management experience.
- An innovative mindset and an entrepreneurial spirit are plus; must be able to lead change and demonstrate excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Demonstrates a high degree of professional integrity, ethical conduct, and commitment to maintaining confidentiality while handling sensitive financial and regulatory matters.
- Strong commitment to continuous learning and staying abreast of changes in taxation, FEMA, transfer pricing, and related regulatory frameworks.
- Deep understanding of core business processes related to finance.
- Strong understanding of PCI DSS requirements.
- Demonstrates outstanding judgment and mature business skills with the ability to establish a strong rapport with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, listening, and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- High level of organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage competing and rapidly changing priorities effectively.
