Lead Infrastructure Configuration Engineer

As a Lead Infrastructure Configuration Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical leadership for the definition, governance and deployment of product and project configuration infrastructure, ensuring alignment with engineering standards, business priorities and project execution needs.
  • Partnering with Systems Engineering, Design Engineers, Engineering template owners, and key stakeholders to create and maintain the Engineering templates related to product infrastructure configuration, including Bill of Material, project documentation, inspection and quality planning, engineering roles and budget and planning of engineering activities, according to workload fluctuations and business priorities.
  • Evaluate, define, integrate, and continuously improve configuration rules to enable newly developed products to be implemented in Product Configurators, promoting reuse of parts and systems, efficiency, and cost-competitive supply chain strategies.
  • Ensuring that configuration data, technical documentation list and project deliverables are accurate, complete, traceable and consistent with applicable engineering policies, procedures and governance requirements.
  • Maintaining and updating template structures, revisions, associated procedures, work instructions and supporting documentation in accordance with established standards.
  • Acting as a technical and co-functional reference for customer documentation exchange system and its integration with other company tools, such as PLM and ERP, supporting effective use, governance and continuous improvement.
  • Releasing Project Documentation Lists, Vendor Document Exchange Lists and Bills of Material for requisition projects, in accordance with applicable work instructions, company procedures and project requirements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with assigned project needs, according to workload fluctuations and business priorities.
  • Leading the analysis of feedback received during requisition project execution to identify lessons learned, recurring gaps and improvement opportunities, and driving their translation into structured updates or enhancements of the applicable Engineering templates, in alignment with governance requirements and stakeholder needs.
  • Leading change management activities related to engineering infrastructure templates and configuration processes, providing technical guidance to ensure that changes are properly assessed, documented, approved and implemented in alignment with applicable governance, business priorities and stakeholder requirements and implemented in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and Work Instructions.
  • Analyzing data and generating reports to monitor progress, identify trends, highlight risks or gaps and support fact-based decisions across infrastructure activities.
  • Identifying and leading opportunities for process, tool and governance improvement, contributing to standard ways of working and a more digital, model-based engineering environment.
  • Communicating significant issues, developments, risks, progress and achievements to leadership and key stakeholders, and participating as presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews.
  • Coordinating external providers in the implementation of solutions within company digital and product lifecycle management tools, ensuring compliance with Baker Hughes governance and standards.
  • Coaching and guiding team members and project contributors through collaboration, technical expertise and knowledge sharing, promoting accountability, inclusive ways of working and a one-team mindset.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Have a Master’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
  • Have a solid understanding of Baker Hughes products, systems, engineering processes and project execution environment, or the ability to rapidly acquire it.
  • Have experience with product lifecycle management, configuration management, engineering documentation, quality planning or related digital engineering processes.
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide technical leadership, guide others and influence outcomes in a matrixed, cross-functional organization.
  • Be able to execute projects and initiatives in a timely manner, managing priorities, risks and stakeholder expectations.
  • Be comfortable working in ambiguity, adapting to change, challenging the status quo and contributing with a spirit of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Show a strong analytical mindset, data analysis capability and structured problem-solving skills.
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills, with fluency in English both spoken and written.
  • Be able to communicate business goals, programs and processes effectively, adapting the message to different audiences and levels of the organization.
  • Build collaborative relationships with stakeholders across Engineering, Quality, Procurement, Manufacturing, Projects and Digital Technology.
  • Have knowledge of Microsoft 365 collaboration, automation and data visualization tools, which will be considered a plus is preferred.

The initial pay range for this position will be EUR 43,600 To 70,000.

The provisions of Contratto Collettivo Industria Metalmeccanica e della installazione di impianti will be applied to this position. Section VI – Titolo IV of that collective bargaining agreement relates to pay.
