Senior Cloud Engineer

A fast-growing tech innovator in Japan developing cutting-edge AI and hardware technologies is looking for a Senior Cloud & IT Infrastructure Engineer to drive the next generation of scalable, secure infrastructure.

In this hybrid role, you will bridge the gap between cloud engineering (AWS/Kubernetes), SRE, network security, and workplace IT systems to support both global product platforms and internal operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Cloud & Infrastructure Management: Operate, maintain, and optimize AWS cloud environments, Kubernetes clusters, Linux servers, and Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible).
• DevOps & Observability: Build and manage CI/CD pipelines, automate routine workflows, and implement monitoring/observability tools (metrics, logs, traces, alerts).
• SRE & Incident Response: Maintain SLI/SLO standards, lead initial troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for system failures, and record post-mortems.
• Network & Endpoint Security: Oversee L2/L3 networking, VPNs, firewalls, and EDR/SIEM tools. Ensure compliance readiness, device management, and security policy enforcement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as a bridge across global teams, providing technical support, updating security workflows, and maintaining clear documentation.

Requirements

• Cloud & Linux Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in cloud operation/maintenance (AWS, Kubernetes) and core Linux server administration.
• Networking & Security: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and core enterprise network security concepts.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proven ability to read, maintain, and modify IaC scripts (Terraform, Ansible).
• Language Proficiency: Fluent/Professional Japanese and Business-level English for cross-functional global collaboration.
• Problem-Solving & Mindset: Strong troubleshooting skills, proactive communication, and a habit of thorough documentation.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience with observability tools (New Relic, Grafana, CloudWatch, Sentry).
• Automation scripting skills (Python, Bash).
• Industry certifications (AWS Certified, CCNA/CCNP, CISSP, CompTIA Security+).
