Overview

Ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect purchases to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations while achieving quality, cost, service, and working capital objectives.

Responsibilities

Key Accountabilities

Purchasing & Supply Continuity

  • Execute purchasing activities for raw materials, packaging materials, and indirect purchases in accordance with approved procurement plans and business requirements.
  • Convert material planning requirements into purchase orders while ensuring material availability and minimizing stock shortages or excess inventory.
  • Monitor purchase order progress and coordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries.

Supplier Management

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply and consistent service levels.
  • Monitor supplier performance against quality, delivery, responsiveness, and commercial commitments.
  • Support supplier qualification and the identification of alternative sourcing opportunities to mitigate supply risks.

Commercial & Cost Management

  • Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and commercial conditions to optimize total procurement cost.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining required quality and service standards.
  • Support annual supplier negotiations and contract renewals.

Market Intelligence

  • Monitor local and international market trends, commodity prices, and supply conditions to support informed purchasing decisions.
  • Assess market risks and recommend appropriate mitigation actions.

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with Planning, Production, Quality, Warehousing, Finance, and Logistics to ensure seamless supply chain execution.
  • Support inventory optimization initiatives through effective purchasing decisions and supplier coordination.

Governance & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, delegated authority limits, and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records and ERP data.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Language: Excellent Command of English and Arabic Language.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), with advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Interpersonal Competencies: Excellent Negotiation Skills – Supplier Relationship Management – Strong Presentation Skills – Very Good Data Analysis and Reporting Skills – Analytical Thinking – Communication Skills.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Seniority: A minimum of 1 year within current role.
  • Experience Background: A minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing or procurement within an FMCG or manufacturing environment. | Experience in raw material and packaging procurement is preferred; Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing procurement cycles; Demonstrate strong analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to work with costs, pricing, inventory, and business data.
