Executive - Planning

Based at Silueta, Biyagama

We are looking for an individual who is responsible for preparing production capacity plans and ensuring the optimum utilization of resources to achieve on time delivery and operational efficiency. The role works closely with cross-functional teams to develop manufacturing plans, monitor production performance, manage capacity utilization, and provide accurate planning information that supports business objectives and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain production capacity allocation plans and detailed manufacturing plans to ensure on time delivery while maximizing resource utilization.
• Coordinate with Sales & Marketing, Purchasing, Production, Technical, Quality, Product Development, Logistics, and other operational teams to gather information required for effective planning and delivery commitments.
• Monitor plant loading and capacity utilization, ensuring production resources are utilized efficiently and business lead times are achieved.
• Participate in and facilitate operational, loading, production, and delivery review meetings to identify and resolve planning-related issues.
• Analyze customer forecasts and order confirmations to prepare capacity plans, production schedules, and delivery commitments.
• Update and maintain planning systems, dashboards, and planning documentation to ensure visibility of production capacity, efficiency, and delivery performance.
• Prepare and distribute planning and production reports, including production status, sales forecasts, loading forecasts, efficiency reports, and delivery performance reports.
• Review actual production performance against plans, identify deviations, and coordinate corrective actions to ensure delivery targets are met.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing operational data and recommending process improvements to enhance planning effectiveness.
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by management in line with the role requirements.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Degree in Engineering or a related discipline with a strong analytical and mathematical background.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Planning, Production, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or a related field.
• Sound understanding of production planning, manufacturing processes, capacity management, and resource utilization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to interpret production data, forecasts, and operational metrics to support planning decisions.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and planning/reporting systems.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced manufacturing environment.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in planning and reporting activities.
