Position Summary

Principal Responsibilities

  1. Ensure high level of supplier quality performance, and take appropriate action plans for corrections with Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) Engineer and reach the Parts Per Million (PPM) targets. Recharge justified costs not under Teleflex responsibilty to suppliers. Reporting of PPM and Perfromance metrics towards the supplier. Responsible to schedule, forecast & purchase the right volumes of raw material for in-house production and subcontractor.
  2. Define opportunities for cost reduction, validate them with Strategic Materials teams and implement them. All actions must be registered in Productivity Improvement Plan (PIP) system. Report Purchasing indexes and Profit & Loss effects (managed through the SD Action Plan Process and Std Cost Variance Reports / PPV) Perform operational activities of inventory management and supplier management to ensure smooth supply of good quality products and services.
  3. Work closely with the Value Stream Teams and Planning team to support corrective actions due to supplier deviation in Misdeliveries Per Million (MPM) Manage all raw materials to ensure supply of material are in place and able to deliver efficient, effective, and flexible solutions to meet production requirements.
  4. Be involved in the supplier selection and kick off in project phase to prepare the start of Production Manage purchasing activities to ensure purchased items are delivered on time to support the production schedule.
  5. Maintain operations supplier list updated and in line with commodity strategy. Propose and contribute to downsizing of supplier base Ensure high level of supplier quality performance and take appropriate action plan for correction with SQE and reach the part per million (PPM) targets.
  6. Monitor all relevant suppliers and parts information and ensure proper ordering, invoicing & cost control Work closely with value stream team and planning team to support corrective action due to supplier deviation in mis deliveries. Interfaces with operating and support group (purchasing, finance, QA, manufacturing) to collect data for preparation of schedule and report.
  7. Manage expediting and de-expediting processes and functions, execute the supply contracts on behalf of the Legal Entity ensuring correct call down, delivery, receipt and invoice matching. Monitor all relevant supplier and part information to ensure proper ordering, invoicing & cost control.
  8. Inform commodity teams in case of major volume changes. Validate operations QCD information sent to the Group Coordinate and monitor return to vendors and disposal of raw materials.
  9. Prioritise local resolution of issues but escalade to Strategic Sourcing / Commodity team when needed
  10. Analyze inventory reports to identify slow moving, overstocked items and obsolete inventory.  
    
  11. Ensure material availability to meet all manufacturing needs on a just in time basis with no late deliveries causing manufacturing delay or down time. Understand lead times for part and effect to material planning, including the variation of logistics lead time to ensure on time supply.
  12. Attends to all relevant meetings taking a proactive approach on meeting outcome to determine impact to material supplies, existing inventory and if necessary escalate for next level attention. Other tasks as appropriate to the purchasing function Perform daily SAP system review and metric analysis to identify potential and actual material shortage, review order progress, material rejection, scrap, and rework.
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  1. Minimum 3 years’ experience in a material planning/ material purchase function (ERP) within manufacturing environment is preferred. within an Medical environment
  2. Speaks / Writes English (Essential), (Malay, German, Czech, Chinese,– One or More Desirable)
  3. Relevant Degree Qualification.
  4. Excellent Communication Skills, Analytical and Negotiation Skills.
  5. Willing To Travel Internationally
  6. PC Skills / ERP Experience (QAD / SAP)
