As a Product Engineer, you will support the delivery of product engineering activities across multiple SKUs and projects within the development lifecycle. Working closely with the line manager and cross-functional teams, you will ensure assigned deliverables are completed on time, in line with project requirements, and compliant with business processes.
You will contribute to planning and executing engineering tasks, track progress, and support coordination of prototype builds and production readiness activities. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a structured manner.
Operating in a dynamic environment, you will follow established processes, apply best practices, and actively communicate progress, risks, and issues to support project delivery.
Responsibilities
· Execute assigned product engineering activities across multiple products/models and projects within the development lifecycle.
· Support planning and organization of deliverables based on project direction and timelines.
· Track progress of assigned models and report status updates to line manager and project stakeholders.
· Manage model-level BOM readiness from setup to AFP release, ensuring all technical and commercial variants are accurately released according to project timelines.
· Translate defined requirements into engineering tasks and execute within agreed timelines.
· Identify basic risks and issues and escalate appropriately to line manager or project team.
· Support cross-functional teams in resolving project and engineering-related issues.
· Coordinate sample requests, prototype builds, and material allocation to ensure build readiness.
· Work with manufacturing teams (e.g., Workshop, Contract Manufacturer) to support build execution and schedule alignment.
· Prepare and maintain trackers (e.g., prototype tracker, build plans, sample tracking) for visibility and accuracy.
· Support testing and validation activities to ensure deliverables meet requirements.
· Assist in OPEX tracking and cost monitoring activities.
· Follow internal tools, systems, and processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.
· Apply best practices and adhere to governance policies in all aspects of work.
Accountabilities
· Accountable for delivering assigned product engineering deliverables for moderate-complexity projects.
· Accountable for creation and maintenance of product specifications, engineering drawings, and SKU BOMs under guidance.
· Ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned SKU deliverables (e.g., drawings, BOM, approvals, releases).
· Ensure all assigned deliverables meet agreed timelines, quality standards, and process requirements.
· Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of work progress, issues, and risks.
· Ensure prototype builds, sample requests, and validation activities are properly coordinated and documented.
· Maintain accuracy and integrity of engineering data, trackers, and documentation.
· Support cost tracking by maintaining OPEX records and highlighting variances.
· Escalate issues and risks clearly with supporting data to enable team decision-making.
Skills
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent qualification.
Technical & Domain Knowledge
· Basic understanding of product development, product lifecycle, SKU structure, and business processes.
· Familiarity with engineering drawings, product specifications, and business BOM.
· Ability to support moderate design, specification, and process changes.
Project & Delivery Management
· Good organizational and time management skills to manage multiple assigned tasks.
· Ability to follow defined plans and execute deliverables within timelines.
· Basic ability to identify and escalate risks and issues.
Tools & Systems
· Basic working knowledge of Teamcenter, Siemens NX, Ariba, Bartender Designer, and Microsoft Office tools.
Collaboration & Communication
· Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
· Clear communication of progress, issues, and updates to stakeholders.
Operational & Business Skills
· Ability to manage trackers, documentation, and reporting with accuracy.
· Basic understanding of OPEX tracking and cost management.
· Awareness of governance, processes, and compliance requirements.
