YOUR ROLE AS A: Procurement Lead
As the Procurement Lead, you will lead the procurement function for AirAsia Next and Capital A, driving strategic sourcing, commercial value creation, procurement governance and supplier management across the organisation. You will work closely with senior leadership, Group Procurement and key business stakeholders to develop and execute procurement strategies, strengthen processes and controls, and ensure procurement delivers the best value across cost, quality, service and risk.
The role will also provide procurement process and policy support to other entities within the Capital A ecosystem, including Santan and, as the organisation evolves, potentially Ikhlas and AirAsia Ride.
WHAT YOU’LL CHAMPION:
- Procurement Strategy & Leadership: Partner with Group Procurement, Finance leadership and key business stakeholders to establish procurement objectives, strategies and performance targets, ensuring alignment with overall business and Group priorities.
- Strategic Sourcing: Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across key spend categories, including Information Technology, Digital and Indirect Procurement, from requirements gathering and market analysis through to sourcing, evaluation, negotiation and contract award.
- Value Creation & Cost Optimisation: Drive commercial value by identifying and executing cost reduction, cost avoidance, spend consolidation and process efficiency initiatives while maintaining the required standards of quality and service.
- Procurement Governance & Controls: Establish, maintain and enforce robust procurement governance, policies, processes, internal controls and segregation of duties to ensure compliance with Group standards, regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Procurement Process & Digitalisation: Drive continuous improvement and digitalisation of procurement processes, including the effective use of e-Procurement solutions and systems to improve transparency, efficiency, controls and overall procurement experience.
- Vendor & Supplier Management: Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships, oversee supplier performance and ensure effective vendor governance, including the management and maintenance of the Group panel of registered vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiation & Commercial Management: Lead and oversee complex negotiations with suppliers and business partners to secure optimal commercial terms, balancing cost, service, quality, contractual obligations and strategic considerations.
- Risk Management: Assess and manage procurement and supplier risks at a strategic level, providing sound recommendations to senior stakeholders and ensuring appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a strategic procurement partner to key user departments and business leaders, understanding business requirements, influencing sourcing decisions and providing commercially sound procurement advice.
- People & Performance Leadership: Lead, coach and develop procurement team members, building the required skills, competencies and knowledge to deliver a high-performing procurement function. Oversee departmental planning, budgeting and performance while continuously reviewing processes to improve efficiency and service delivery.
WHO YOU ARE:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, supply chain or commercial management, with demonstrated experience operating at a senior management level.
- Proven track record in leading end-to-end procurement activities, strategic sourcing and complex commercial negotiations.
- Strong understanding of procurement governance, policies, controls, contract management and supplier relationship management.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders across multiple business functions and entities.
- Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to identify cost optimisation opportunities and translate business requirements into effective procurement strategies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Experience managing procurement across multiple entities, business units or geographies within a group environment would be an advantage.
