Senior Network Engineer

Key Responsibilities

The IPS MY Senior Network Engineer is accountable for ensuring the availability, reliability, security, and performance of networking services for NTT DATA Business Solutions. Responsible for delivering network services in line with global standards, security and compliance requirements, and agreed service level expectations. The position will be based in NDBS Malaysia and will report to Delivery Area Lead. Functionally, the role will work closely with NDBS US network and infrastructure teams to provide Level 3 network engineering, operational support, troubleshooting, change implementation, and project services, including support for the US Data Center migration activities. The role requires strong hands-on expertise across enterprise networking, data center networking, firewalls, routing, VPN, and SD-WAN technologies, together with the ability to operate effectively in a globally distributed IT environment.

This is a 6-month contract position, with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position based on performance, business requirements and successful demonstration of the expected technical and functional capabilities during the contract period.

• Administer, configure, monitor and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, switching, routing, wireless, VoIP and other network infrastructure across NDBS environments.
• Provide Level 3 network engineering support, including advanced troubleshooting, incident resolution, root-cause analysis and resolution of complex network issues.
• Administer and troubleshoot FortiGate firewalls, including configuration, policy management, NAT, VPN and high availability (HA).
• Configure, operate and troubleshoot Cisco Nexus 7000/9000 Series switches and data center switching environments.
• Support and troubleshoot Spine-Leaf data center network architecture and modern network fabric environments.
• Configure and troubleshoot BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, VRF and VRF leaking/inter-VRF communication.
• Configure, monitor and troubleshoot SD-WAN connectivity and IPsec site-to-site VPNs.
• Support network changes, upgrades, maintenance activities and infrastructure projects, including NDBS US Data Center Migration activities.
• Provide network operational support aligned with US time-zone requirements, including incidents, changes and project activities where required.
• Work closely with NDBS US and global infrastructure/network teams to deliver support and resolve complex issues, coordinating with other teams such as Server, Storage, Backup, Security, Cloud and Data Center teams where required.
• Monitor network health, performance, capacity and traffic trends, and provide analysis and recommendations to Management.
• Support fundamental operations of Servers, Operating Systems, Backup & Storage and Data Center environments in ICP and NDBS platforms, including installation, configuration, patching, monitoring and troubleshooting where required.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date network diagrams, configurations, procedures and technical documentation in accordance with NTT DATA Business Solutions standards.
• Share technical knowledge with colleagues through documentation, communications and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Ensure all company policies, security standards, compliance requirements and SOPs are followed.
• Carry out other reasonable duties within the employee's skills and abilities as instructed.

Education/Experience/Skills

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, preferably in enterprise/data center environments.
• Strong L3 network engineering, troubleshooting, incident resolution and root-cause analysis experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/NX-OS and Cisco Nexus 7000/9000, including data center switching and Spine-Leaf architecture.
• Strong experience with FortiGate firewalls, including policies, NAT, VPN, HA, troubleshooting and CLI.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, route redistribution, VRF/VRF leaking and network security.
• Experience with SD-WAN and IPsec site-to-site VPN.
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure or GCP networking.
• Experience supporting global teams, including US time-zone operational support, incident resolution, changes and projects.
• Able to work with Network, Server, Storage, Backup, Security, Cloud and other infrastructure teams to resolve end-to-end issues.
• Strong English communication skills and experience in international collaboration.
• CCNP or equivalent certification preferred.
• Willing to work in Cyberjaya, Selangor and travel when required.
