Program Manager - Image Guided Therapy

Job Description

In this role, you will have the opportunity to join the leading innovator in image-guided therapy as Program Manager for the flagship Image Guided Therapies program. Part of the Dutch MedTech Growth Plan, this strategic program is building the intervention room of the future through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and advanced imaging, enabling more automated, image-guided and minimally invasive procedures across complex cardiac, neuro and oncological interventions.

The program aims to strengthen the Netherlands’ position as a leading European innovation hub for AI- and robotics-enabled healthcare. By bringing together healthcare providers, academia, industry and government, the program seeks to improve access to high-quality care, address workforce challenges, accelerate innovation and deliver better patient outcomes.

As Program Manager, you will lead the first program phase (2026–2028), building the foundations, partnerships and capabilities required to create long-term impact. You will report to the Senior Director R&D Azurion Eye and work closely with the governance bodies of the MedTech Growth Plan, including the MedTech Board and other evolving national governance structures, as well as partners across hospitals, universities, knowledge institutions, industry and government.

Your role

You lead the flagship program focused on data, AI and robotics end-to-end, connecting strategy, portfolio management and execution.

Specifically, you will:

• Program direction – set up the flagship approach and operationalize the first three-year program phase (2026–2028), defining the initial portfolio, critical capabilities, requirements, preconditions and success criteria required for long-term impact.
• Ecosystem orchestration – activate and connect a broad network of hospitals, universities, knowledge institutions and industry partners, accelerating the development, validation and adoption of innovative use cases.
• Portfolio & preconditions – steer portfolio programming and critical enablers, including clinical data availability, AI development, talent and workforce initiatives, and data infrastructure supporting European data sovereignty.
• Strategic alignment – ensure flagship priorities, capabilities and ecosystem initiatives are closely aligned with Philips' innovation strategy and the Azurion roadmap, maximizing both societal impact and business value creation.
• Governance & reporting – establish and maintain effective governance, report progress, milestones and impact to management and ecosystem stakeholders, and support decision-making based on impact, strategic priorities and stakeholder alignment.
• Risk & compliance – proactively identify and mitigate risks, issues and scope changes affecting quality, cost or timeline, while ensuring appropriate quality and compliance standards.
• Visibility & communication – represent the program within the Dutch and European healthcare innovation ecosystem, communicate transparently and continuously demonstrate progress and impact.

What you are accountable for

• Delivering program objectives and agreed deliverables on quality, cost and timeline.
• Establishing and operationalizing the flagship approach, governance model and milestone framework.
• Building, coaching and leading a successful, proactive and highly engaged program team.
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, partners and suppliers.
• Providing clear and actionable reporting to steering committees and leadership teams.
• Realizing measurable impact for patients, the healthcare ecosystem and the Dutch MedTech position internationally.

You're the right fit if

• You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Medical Informatics, Robotics or a related field, combined with 8+ years of experience in program or project management.
• You have proven experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder programs, preferably within MedTech, healthcare, R&D or high-tech environments.
• You have a strong affinity with AI, robotics, advanced imaging and innovation, and can effectively connect multidisciplinary stakeholders.
• You demonstrate strong leadership, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to create alignment across diverse organizations and interests.
• You have experience working in ecosystem, consortium or public-private partnership environments; this is considered a strong advantage.
• You are fluent in both Dutch and English.
• You are entrepreneurial, results-driven, reliable and capable of operating effectively in dynamic and evolving environments.
• Familiarity with quality systems, regulatory requirements and standards applicable to medical devices is a plus.
