We are seeking a highly organised and commercially minded Contract Analyst to provide end-to-end contract administration, financial analysis, reporting, and governance support. Reporting to the Performance Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring contract variations, financial information, and commercial documentation are accurate, transparent, and delivered to the highest standard.
Te Kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
Downer hold a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management (“AM/FM”) contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. This involves the proactive management and delivery to the national portfolio of facilities including 16 prisons, 100 courts and 157 community correctional sites. This contract underpins the provision of availability of facilities to support core Government services.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with data, and building strong relationships across the business. You will work closely with operational, commercial, procurement, finance, and customer stakeholders to deliver robust commercial outcomes and support effective contract performance.
What You’ll Do (key responsibilities)
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage and track contract variations from initiation through to approval and close-out.
- Undertake financial analysis, reconciliations, validation, and reporting to support commercial decision-making.
- Develop accurate, complete, and commercially robust documentation and submissions.
- Monitor and report on variation status, risks, dependencies, and outcomes.
- Conduct quality reviews and audits to ensure compliance with contractual and governance requirements.
- Translate complex financial and contractual information into clear and actionable insights.
- Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders to gather information and resolve issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls, reporting, and data quality.
- Take ownership of issues, proactively investigate gaps, and independently drive solutions.

You'll bring:
- Experience in contract administration, commercial management, procurement, finance, or a related discipline.
- Strong financial analysis, reconciliation, and reporting skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and build trusted relationships.
- Experience preparing commercial documentation, business cases, or contract variations.
- Quality assurance, audit, or compliance experience.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and transparency.
