Regulatory Administrator

Our Regulatory Delivery team plays an important role in supporting a safe, well-functioning city. Working across a broad range of regulatory activities, the team helps ensure Council processes are delivered consistently, legislative requirements are met, and customers receive clear and reliable support.

As a Regulatory Administrator, you’ll be at the centre of this work providing the accurate, organised administration that keeps regulatory services moving. From coordinating information requests and maintaining records to supporting licensing, compliance and customer enquiries, you’ll manage varied work that requires sound judgement, attention to detail and a calm, practical approach.

This is also an opportunity to look beyond the task at hand. You’ll help identify better ways of working, improve systems and documentation, and contribute to a positive customer experience. Te Āheinga - The Opportunity

In this role, you will:

  • Provide administrative support across a range of regulatory processes
  • Maintain accurate records in line with legislative and Council requirements
  • Coordinate responses to information requests, disputes and complaints
  • Support compliance, licensing, reporting and documentation processes
  • Help customers understand relevant regulatory requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and the customer experience
  • Provide wider support to the Regulatory Delivery team when required

He kōrero mōhou - About You

You’ll bring strong administration experience and a methodical approach to your work. You’ll be comfortable managing competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and providing a helpful, professional service.

You will also have:

  • NCEA Level 3 or an equivalent qualification
  • At least three years’ experience in an administrative role
  • Strong attention to detail and confidence following structured processes
  • Clear communication and excellent customer service skills
  • Sound problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Confidence using the Microsoft Office suite
  • A positive, flexible approach and willingness to support the wider team

Experience within a regulatory environment, knowledge of relevant legislation, or familiarity with MagiQ Enterprise would be an advantage.

This is a permanent, full-time opportunity working 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday. You will be based at our Napier office.

The annual salary package for this role is between $62,055 - $69,355 (including KiwiSaver), with the final offer depending on your skills and experience.
