Labourer/Trainee (Gardening)

We're looking for a Labourer/Trainee (Gardening) to join our team at Burnham Military Camp. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience while helping maintain the gardens, green spaces, and outdoor environments that support New Zealand Defence Force personnel.

No experience? No problem. We'll provide the training, mentoring, and support you need to develop practical skills, gain industry knowledge, and build a long-term career in horticulture and grounds maintenance.

What You’ll Be Doing | Ngā Kawenga Takohanga

• Planting, weeding, pruning, mulching, and garden maintenance
• Supporting grounds and landscape maintenance activities
• Learning to safely use horticultural tools and equipment
• Working alongside experienced team members
• Following health, safety, and environmental standards
• Interacting professionally with NZDF personnel, contractors, and site users

What We’re Looking For | Ā Mātou e Rapu Ana:

• Interest in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Enjoy physical outdoor work
• Commitment to health and safety
• Full Class 1 licence preferred
• Able to meet NZDF security requirements
• Right to work in New Zealand
