Responsibilities:

The Lead Informatics Engineer will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and optimization of healthcare informatics, EHR, data, and digital health solutions. The position will provide technical leadership in translating clinical, operational, research, and business requirements into reliable, scalable, and clinically meaningful technology solutions. Reporting to the Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO), you will be responsible for:

• Lead clinical informatics and EHR data stewardship, ensuring consistent clinical data definitions, standards, terminology, and information models.
• Translate clinical workflows and business requirements into clear informatics specifications in collaboration with IT and technical teams.
• Ensure EHR solutions accurately reflect clinical workflows, data meaning, and intended use.
• Validate EHR-derived data, reports, quality measures, dashboards, and analytical outputs for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and clinical relevance.
• Identify and resolve clinical data quality and reporting discrepancies in collaboration with Clinical, Quality, Research, Informatics, and Technology teams.
• Support the development and validation of research-ready clinical datasets and appropriate use of EHR data for research and academic activities.
• Contribute to clinical informatics education, training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing across relevant teams.
• Provide clinical informatics expertise to health data science, AI, machine learning, and analytics initiatives.
• Support the design and evaluation of data-driven clinical, quality, research, and operational solutions.
• Promote the responsible and appropriate use of healthcare data and AI across clinical and research applications.

Requirements:

The incumbent must have:

• Master’s degree in Clinical or Health Informatics, Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant academic or professional experience in clinical informatics, healthcare data and analytics, health data science, clinical research, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of clinical informatics, EHR data, healthcare analytics, health data science, and the use of data to support clinical care, quality improvement, research, and decision-making.
• Strong understanding of clinical workflows, healthcare information systems, clinical terminology, data definitions, quality measures, and performance indicators.
• Knowledge of clinical and analytical data environments, including data integration, transformation, curation, validation, standardization, and interpretation.
• Understanding of clinical and healthcare data environments, data models, databases, data warehouses, and research data environments.
• Knowledge of healthcare data standards, clinical terminologies, interoperability principles, and clinical data models relevant to EHR and enterprise healthcare data
• Ability to translate complex clinical, quality, research, and academic requirements into clear data, analytical, and informatics specifications.
• Knowledge of statistical methods, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics, including their appropriate and responsible application in healthcare.
• Proficiency in analytical programming and querying tools such as Python, R, and SQL.
• Ability to teach, mentor, and build capacity in clinical informatics, healthcare data, analytics, and research methods.
• Experience of developing AI solutions in healthcare setting
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across clinical, quality, research, academic, informatics, and technology teams.
• Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and judgment skills, with the ability to manage complex and competing institutional requirements.
