Responsibilities

You will be responsible to:

• ensure clinical round of all patients admitted with genetic and metabolic disorders admitted to paediatric inpatient units
• work as a resource person for patients and their families as well as the metabolic / genetic clinicians
• actively participate in imparting education to patients and their families
• make rounds with consultants and participates in family sessions
• arrange individual and group teachings regarding the long term management issues.
• coordinate and organizes storage of metabolic and genetic samples for patients and families
• coordinate with clinical lab for shipment of metabolic and gentic samples to overseas labs
• maintain service, shipment, lab results and specialized milk products/ metabolic medicines log books
• assist metabolic / genetic clinicians in outpatient areas in performing clinics and take detailed patient and family history.

Requirements

You should have:

• a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (BScN) from an accredited school and a valid license from Pakistan Nursing Council
• minimum two years of experience as a clinical nurse or equivalent
• certification in Basic Life Support, safe medication administration, I/V cannulation, NRP, ECG interpretation and aseptic techniques
• excellent interpersonal skills
• willingness to do shifts (morning, evening and night).
