As part of our growing Technology team, we are looking for a SAP Finance Functional Consultant to join our Technology Advisory Services practice. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in implementing the SAP Finance module in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition, who is passionate about helping clients modernize their financial processes and systems.

You will act as a trusted advisor to finance stakeholders, translating business needs into effective SAP S/4HANA Cloud solutions and driving digital transformation for our clients.

What will you actually do?

You will be responsible for the design, configuration, implementation and optimization of SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition – Finance, ensuring alignment with business requirements, SAP Best Practices and regulatory needs. You will act as the bridge between finance and accounting teams and technical specialists, enabling efficient, compliant and scalable financial processes.

Core responsibilities

• Lead functional Finance workstreams: Own key parts of end-to-end delivery for SAP S/4HANA Cloud Finance – from requirements analysis and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment and post–go-live support.
• Business analysis & gap assessment: Analyze business requirements related to finance, accounting and fixed assets processes; perform fit-gap analysis between current processes and SAP Best Practices for Finance (SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition); propose delta designs and recommendations.
• Solution design & configuration: Design and configure Finance scope in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition, including (depending on project scope):
  • General Ledger Accounting
  • Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Asset Accounting
  • Financial Close & Reporting
  • Localization and tax functionalities
• Process design & optimization: Support the definition and optimization of end-to-end financial processes (record-to-report, order-to-cash, procure-to-pay) aligned with industry best practices and client policies.
• Project documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation such as Business Process Design, Setup Guides, Functional/Technical Specifications, Test Scripts, backlog items and configuration records.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate SAP S/4HANA Finance with other SAP modules (e.g. CO, SD, MM, PP, PS) and with external systems (e.g. banking, tax, reporting tools).
• Testing & issue resolution: Plan and execute testing activities (SIT, UAT, regression testing, release testing); troubleshoot functional issues and drive their resolution in collaboration with business and technical teams.
• Compliance & controls: Help ensure that Finance configurations comply with local accounting, tax, audit and regulatory requirements, and support the design of appropriate controls, approvals and audit trails.

Experience & background

• Over 5 years of experience as a SAP S/4HANA Finance Consultant.
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition – Finance modules, such as:
  • General Ledger Accounting
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Asset Accounting
  • Lease Accounting
  • Treasury & Banking
  • Financial Close & Reporting
  • Localization (local GAAP, tax and statutory requirements)
• Strong knowledge of finance and accounting principles and processes, and how they translate into system design and configuration.
• Experience gathering business requirements, performing fit-gap analysis and translating them into functional designs and configuration.
• Knowledge of integration points between Finance and other SAP modules (e.g. CO, SD, MM, PP, PS).
• Experience with testing, defect management, UAT and go-live support in SAP projects.
• Experience working in agile and project-based environments is an advantage.

Tools & methods

• Practical experience with SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition configuration for Finance.
• Familiarity with the SAP Fiori library and role-based UX for Finance users.
• Understanding of the SAP Activate methodology and its application in SAP S/4HANA Cloud projects.

Education & skills

• University degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or a related field.
• SAP Certified Associate – Implementation Consultant – SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Public Edition, Financial Accounting is an advantage.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with both clients and team members.
• Ability to facilitate workshops and engage effectively with both business and technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Communication & language

• Fluent in Romanian and English, both written and spoken.
• Able to explain system and finance concepts in clear, non-technical language to business users.

Nice to have

• Experience with multi-country or multi-entity SAP S/4HANA Cloud rollouts.
• Exposure to Treasury, Group Reporting, Central Finance or advanced localization scenarios.
• Previous involvement in continuous improvement / enhancement cycles in SAP S/4HANA Cloud.
