This role mixes legal compliance work, particularly e-commerce and consumer rights with setting processes and routines that keep things running smoothly. From ad hoc questions to bigger projects, you'll contribute to developing best practices as part of our soon-to-be two-person legal team.

Legal Counsel at Sellpy
We're looking for an exceptional legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is passionate about building a modern, efficient legal function. You'll focus on legal compliance, mainly consumer rights, e-commerce regulation and data privacy. You'll dive deep to understand what applies to Sellpy and use that to tighten up our routines. Improve internal processes and set clear guidelines across the business.
Together with our Head of Legal, you'll take on everything that comes with a fast-growing company like Sellpy. We look forward to seeing you thrive in a hands-on role as our legal team grows to two.
In short, you will
- Join us in building Sellpy's in-house legal function, with a focus on legal compliance, primarily consumer rights, e-commerce regulation and data privacy
- Give general legal support to the business: drafting and reviewing agreements and answering everyday legal questions
- Governance and external relations: create, implement and maintain internal guidelines across the business, review and update terms and conditions as well as support and answer inquiries from authorities and organizations
- Legal research: stay on top of legislative and regulatory developments
- Risk management: proactively identify and address legal risks together with our Head of Legal
We use AI tools as part of our daily legal work.
Requirements
- A Swedish LL.M (Juristexamen)
- A minimum of five years of experience in a relevant role, such as at a business law firm or within a fast-growing retail or tech company
- Solid background in corporate and commercial law, with a deep understanding of the legal areas relevant to e-commerce
- Strong understanding of data privacy and consumer law
- Demonstrated good judgment, personal integrity, and excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to efficiently handle multiple high-impact projects in a fast-paced environment
- Structured and organised but comfortable adapting when priorities shift
- Down-to-earth, self-driven, and capable of providing high-quality legal advice
- Fluency in English and Swedish, with outstanding communication skills
We’d be impressed if you have
- Written and spoken skills in German or Polish
- Experience from working with employment law, tax law or intellectual property

Location
On-site collaboration at our core, supported by a flexible hybrid setup on set days. This specific role is based at our Medborgarplatsen office.
