With an estate of more than 3,000 repositories, we have one of the largest and most interesting AI enablement challenges in the industry — and we're looking for the person who wants to participate on it.

Job description

This role is about turning AI from promise into measurable impact. You'll build the configurations, tooling, and patterns that let delivery teams plug AI directly into their day-to-day work, and you'll lead the mentoring classes and educational sessions that spread that capability across the organization.

What you will do

Configure repositories for AI — design, build, and roll out repeatable configurations (rules, instructions, context files, MCP/tool integrations, CI hooks) across a large and diverse repository estate.
Develop internal AI apps for software engineering — build practical tools, assistants, dashboards, and workflow integrations that help engineering teams use AI safely and effectively in daily development, testing, code review, documentation, and repository maintenance.
Deliver end-to-end solutions, not advice — prepare functional, production-ready setups that teams can adopt without rebuilding them from scratch.
Scale enablement — replace repetitive tasks with automation, build self-service tooling, and reusable playbooks so hundreds of teams can be onboarded without proportional effort.
Act as the internal AI advocate — stay ahead of tooling developments, evaluate new capabilities, and set standards and best practices for AI usage in engineering.

What you bring

Required

Extensive hands-on software engineering experience (3+ years), with credibility across multiple languages, stacks, and repository setups.
Practical experience configuring and using AI coding assistants and agentic developer tooling in real codebases.
Solid Git, CI/CD, and developer-tooling/automation background.
Ability to work independently, drive initiatives end to end, and operate across many teams at once.
Fluent English (written and spoken).

Nice to have

Experience with large-scale developer enablement, platform engineering, or DevEx programs.
Scripting and automation skills for mass repository operations at scale.
Experience defining and tracking engineering productivity metrics.
A track record of public speaking, community talks, or technical content creation.

Success in the first 12 months

A standardized, reusable AI configuration pattern adopted across the repository estate, with a clear path to covering 500 repositories.
Enablement shifted from slow one-to-one mentoring to a scalable program of classes, templates, and self-service assets.
Measurable, reported productivity impact from AI-enabled teams, trending toward the 40% target.
A recognized internal community of AI champions inside the delivery teams.

Basic wage component (brutto): from 2500 EUR/m.

* The final basic wage component can be increased accordingly to individual skills and experience of the selected candidate.
* Performance bonus 2 times per year up to 10% of the basic salary paid for the evaluation period(usually 6 months).
