POSITION SUMMARY
The Lead Chemist leads daily laboratory activities supporting CMP slurry formulation development, polishing performance improvement, and internal and external customer needs. This role combines hands-on chemistry with laboratory operations management, including resource allocation, safety compliance, chemical inventory, consumables, equipment, and administrative coordination.
YOUR ROLE
- Prepare, modify, and optimize CMP slurries and chemical formulations for polishing projects and customer sample requests.
- Plan and execute experiments, beaker tests, sample preparation, and laboratory analysis according to test plans.
- Operate, troubleshoot, and support the maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment and analytical instruments.
- Analyze data, document results, and support R&D in formulation development and product transfer.
- Coordinate laboratory space, personnel, equipment, chemicals, samples, and consumables according to project priorities.
- Ensure laboratory readiness, efficient resource utilization, and timely execution of experiments.
- Promote laboratory safety and ensure compliance with EHS requirements, risk assessments, PPE, chemical handling, storage, and waste procedures.
- Manage chemical and consumables administration, including ordering, receiving, labeling, inventory, expiration tracking, storage, and disposal.
- Maintain laboratory records, safety documentation, equipment records, inventory data, and other required administrative documents.
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of customer requests, complaints, technical issues, and laboratory problems.
- Coordinate with R&D, polish and formulation laboratories, operations, suppliers, and other internal stakeholders.
- Support administrative activities and continuous improvement initiatives for the Taiwan Technology Center.
WHO YOU ARE
- Master's / Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in chemical formulation, semiconductor manufacturing, laboratory operations, or a related area.
- Practical experience in laboratory experimentation, chemical handling, and formulation or slurry preparation.
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Basic knowledge of laboratory safety, chemical storage, and waste handling.
