Position Title: Production Planner

Your Job

Molex is seeking a Production Planner to join the Supply Planning Department within the DataCom & Specialty Solutions (DSS) division. In this role, you will translate customer demand into executable production and material plans, maintain SAP planning accuracy, and coordinate plant and third-party operations to support on-time delivery and revenue commitments.

Your mission is to protect production continuity by identifying material and capacity constraints early, driving timely actions with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Warehouse, Sales, Finance, and subcontractors, and resolving schedule or system exceptions before they affect customer delivery.

Our team: Supply Planning team within the DSS division.

Project stakeholders: Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Warehouse, Finance/Controller, Sales/CSR, subcontractors, and system support teams.

What You Will Do (Job Description)

· Production Planning & Order Management

o Manage end-to-end production planning and order execution, including backlog review, production order release, output monitoring, and capacity planning.

o Maintain accurate SAP production schedules to align with customer demand changes, including pull-ins, push-outs, and order cancellations.

o Partner with CSR teams to establish monthly revenue targets and drive cross-functional execution plans to achieve shipment and financial objectives.

· Capacity & Bottleneck Management

o Proactively identify production constraints and bottlenecks, and collaborate with Manufacturing teams to implement capacity recovery or expansion plans to ensure customer commitments are met.

o Partner with the Global Sales & Operations Planning (GS&OP) team to review late backlog, assess material readiness, and drive action plans through weekly Supply Chain Planning (SCP) reviews.

· Shop Floor Management

o Oversee daily shop floor activities, monitor WIP status, bottleneck operations, and provide real-time corrections to minimize schedule deviations.

o Support cross-functional efforts to improve operational efficiency and resolve process abnormalities.

· Inventory Management

o Collaborate with Material Planners to manage inventory adjustments related to scrap, engineering changes, and quality issues while ensuring inventory accuracy.

o Review and optimize safety stock strategies to balance material availability, inventory investment, and the reduction of slow-moving or excess inventory.

· Systems & Process Support

o Support SAP execution processes and serve as a key resource in resolving planning and system-related issues.

o Drive implementation of global supply chain transformation initiatives and planning process enhancements.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration

o Work closely with Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, Finance, Sales, Manufacturing, and subcontractors to resolve operational challenges and ensure smooth execution.

o Support NPI requirements and urgent customer requests through coordination with internal and external stakeholders.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.

· 2 years of experience in production planning, material planning, manufacturing operations, or supply chain management.

· Strong knowledge of SAP planning and production processes, including MD04, production orders, STR, planned orders, STO, and exception message management.

· Strong analytical skills with experience utilizing reporting tools to evaluate backlog, revenue performance, inventory health, and operational variances.

· Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively across Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Warehouse, Sales, Finance, and external suppliers.

· Experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment with ability to manage multiple priorities.

· Proactive, detail‑oriented, and capable of identifying supply risks and driving resolutions independently.

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel or other analysis tools for data management.

· Experience in high-mix manufacturing, metal processing, machining, assembly, or subcontracted production environments.

· Knowledge of S&OP, MRP, capacity planning, safety stock, planning time fences, and inventory optimization.

· A proactive, detail-oriented approach with demonstrated ownership of production risks, schedule adherence, and continuous improvement.
