Technical Parts Specialist

Job Overview:

The Technical Parts Specialist supports Lifecycle Services by helping Inside Sales, Customer Support, field service, and internal teams identify accurate replacement parts, validate substitutions, and resolve parts-related escalations. This role protects customer uptime by improving quote accuracy, response time, and the overall parts support experience. This role works across all groups and products, working with other engineering and technical teams to support questions, escalations, and long-term management of parts data and details.

Job Functions:

  • Support Inside Sales with replacement part identification, customer request clarification, and quote accuracy.
  • Use BOMs, manuals, drawings, order history, supplier information, and system records to recommend correct replacement parts.
  • Validate compatibility, substitutions, supersessions, and obsolescence paths with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Serve as an escalation resource for complex or urgent parts inquiries impacting customer operations.
  • Coordinate with purchasing, suppliers, support, service, operations, and engineering when additional review is required.
  • Maintain parts knowledge, cross-reference information, and common issue documentation to improve standard work.

Travel Requirements:

  • There is no travel for this position.

Required Qualifications and Preferred Skills:

  • 2+ years of experience in parts support, aftermarket services, technical customer support, maintenance, industrial equipment, or material handling.
  • Ability to read and interpret BOMs, equipment manuals, parts lists, basic drawings, and technical documentation.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and practical troubleshooting skills.
  • Clear communication skills with a customer-focused and professional approach.
  • Strong organization, follow-through, and ownership of open issues and escalations.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft D365 ERP, BlueStar PLM, and SolidWorks CAD software
  • Experience with conveyor, robotics, AutoStore, automated material handling, warehouse automation, or industrial controls environments.
  • Experience supporting spare parts recommendations, supplier cross-referencing, part obsolescence, and customer aftermarket needs.
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.
