Job Summary:

The Department of Medicine, Division of Hospital Medicine has an opening for a full-time Operations Program Director. This position serves as a senior operational leader for the Division and is responsible for translating divisional priorities into effective administrative operations, programs, and processes that support the Division’s clinical, educational, research, and academic missions.

The Operations Program Director works closely with the Senior Division Administrator, Division Head, faculty leaders, Department of Medicine, and other institutional partners to coordinate initiatives, improve administrative systems, and provide day-to-day leadership for a multidisciplinary administrative team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides operational and people leadership for the Division of Hospital Medicine, directing a multidisciplinary administrative team and translating divisional priorities into effective operations, programs, and measurable outcomes.
  • Serves as a senior project and program management leader, directing complex, cross-functional initiatives across the Division's clinical, research, educational, and administrative missions from planning through successful implementation.
  • Leads organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement, evaluating divisional processes, systems, workflows, and performance measures and implementing solutions that improve efficiency, accountability, service, and scalability.
  • Provides leadership and oversight for key divisional operations and infrastructure, including education and research support, communications and engagement, space and facilities, technology and systems, procurement coordination, and divisional governance.
  • Serves as a strategic operational partner and advisor to the Senior Division Administrator and Division leadership, representing Hospital Medicine with Department, University, and other institutional partners and advancing divisional priorities across a complex academic medical environment.

Work Location:

Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public administration, organizational leadership, communications, education, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.

    • A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • Six (6) years of professional experience in healthcare, higher education, academic medicine, business operations, program administration, project management, or a closely related environment.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, public administration, organizational leadership, project management, or a related field.
  • Experience in an academic medical center, healthcare organization, or similarly complex matrixed environment.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary administrative teams.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously from planning through implementation.
  • Experience supporting clinical, research, and/or educational programs.
  • Experience working collaboratively with physicians, faculty, senior administrators, and institutional partners.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $89,208 – $113,473.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position may be eligible for overtime compensation, depending on the level.
