Machine Operator

The Sanitation Dishwasher Machine Operator, in the Bakery, must have a basic understanding of machine settings and functionality of production equipment. They will operate the dishwasher and assist in moving, set-up, and tear-down of equipment. Will perform general labor cleaning duties to achieve and support a sanitary work environment. They will be trained and compliant with Lock Out / Tag-Out Procedures; Hazcom and allergen policies. Days and hours will change due to production needs and may include overtime.

• Operate machinery to produce quality products within established time standards.

• Perform pre- and post-operational inspections of equipment to ensure safe and proper operation.

• Set up or adjust production machine(s) as required by the department to support the manufacturing effort.

• Recognize hazards in the workplace and perform corrective actions or report them to the immediate supervisors.

• Clean equipment and surrounding work area when finished or as needed.

• Assist and communicate with the Supervisor regarding unsafe or unusual equipment issues or conditions, damaged or unusual condition of material and ingredients, problem prevention, identification correction and any product quality issues.

• Document accurate production reports and equipment information as required.

• Communicate with Maintenance Shop Technician of specific problems as they arise.

• Adjust machines to meet standards.

• Work with or support a team environment in manufacturing.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Use of hands/wrist, walking, bending, balancing, twisting reaching,

• Lifting a minimum of 30 pounds.

• Stand for 10 hours per shift..

• Will be working in dust noise and varied temperatures (65˚- 85˚).

• Adhere to Department Dress Code and Sanitation requirements.

• Flexibility to schedule changes.

• Compliance with company attendance standards.

• This is a safety sensitive position, subject to initial and follow-up drug testing.

• FLSA status – Hourly Non-Exempt.
