The QAE Inspector interprets plans, specifications, and statements of work and reviews project activities and monitors progress in the field. This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. The QAE Inspector tracks contractual milestones and reporting requirements to ensure project conformance.

This position will report to our office location in Huntsville, AL at Redstone Arsenal.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties, but not all duties performed for this position. Other duties may be assigned.
• Reviews project activities and monitors progress in the field.
• Interprets plans, specifications, and statements of work in order to resolve any unanticipated problems during project execution and provides advice on problem resolution.
• Tracking contractual milestones and reporting requirements to ensure project conformance.
• Reviews and offers advice to the COR on contractor pay requests and payrolls.
• Reviews contractor Quality Control Plan and provide comments to ensure compliance with approved Quality Control Program.
• Requires knowledge of or the ability to utilize government systems.
• Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
Minimum Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualifications listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• 3 Years of Construction experience in all phases of construction
• Specific knowledge of civil engineering principles, related to design, construction, and management of vertical and horizontal projects and including operations, safety, quality control, scheduling and costs.
• Experience providing regulatory support and knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory requirements associated with construction, and remediation projects.
• Ability to communicate, monitor, and coordinate multiple regulatory requirements and milestones with the customer and other stakeholders.
• Experienced working knowledge of civil and environmental engineering concepts, principles, and practices.
• Ability to manage project team resources, consisting of QA managers, safety personnel, and contractors.
• Ability to review and provide comments on contractor submittals including work plans, quality control & testing plans, health and safety plans, project schedule, warranty, and operations and maintenance manuals for compliance with contractual requirements.
Additional Qualifying Factors:
As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening (post accepted offer) and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunity to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to: hard hats, steel toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Must always maintain a constant state of mental alertness.
Working Conditions:
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and loud noise.
