Job Summary:
Trane Technologies has an exciting opportunity for an onsite position in our Engineering Test Laboratory (Lab) in La Crosse, Wisconsin as an Electronics Technician II. This position supports testing of new product development, sustainability, quality improvement projects, and agency compliance. This role is responsible for tests in the Lab that produce qualifying performance & safety data on Trane Commercial Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning products and components. The job requires problem solving, troubleshooting, and collaboration with other lab and engineering team members to ensure timely completion of projects. This position is salaried non-exempt.
Core Job Responsibilities (others may be added):
Work safely and maintain a safe work area in accordance with company policies and procedures
Support product development activities by operating commercial HVAC controls, electronics test facilities, and collecting experimental test data with modest guidance from senior laboratory staff
Provide end-to-end concept and validation electronics testing including planning, instrumentation, data acquisition setup, and testing in accordance with approved test plan and agency standards with guidance from Test Engineer or Senior Technician for Trane commercial HVAC products
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair of Trane commercial HVAC technologies, controls, and electronics components
Drive for continuous improvement in job performance and laboratory procedures
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s Degree in Electronics or Electromechanical Technologies is required; OR an equivalent combination of formal education and training is required.
At least 5-years of work experience in an Electronics or Electromechanical related field is required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook) required
Strong grasp of electronics principles and troubleshooting is preferred
Key Competencies:
A working knowledge of measurement and control equipment (digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, etc.), data acquisition, and communications
Demonstrates basic to advanced knowledge on measuring/inspection instruments, mechanical and electrical components, and their principles, properties, and theories
Proficient understanding and experience in reading and interpreting schematics, engineering drawings, technical reports, safety rules, and operation/maintenance instructions
Ability to understand and follow current work instructions and applicable test standards
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of complex variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Strong verbal and written communication skills in order to listen and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees in the organization
Ability to multitask while working efficiently in a fast-paced team environment

$40,000.00 - $74,340.00
